I may have stumbled upon the one perfect bow for me and my style of shooting, whatever that is. It's a new to me Jim Curlee longbow, 53# @ 28, 62" right hand, Zebra wood with lams that are figured yew I think. When I first strung it up and shot it, I thought I was in trouble. The bow is extremely light in the hand with very narrow limbs. Very squirrelly until I got the brace height set, added string silencers and a quiver. Now it's a dream to shoot and I can't put it down. Not sure how many nocks I've shot of in the last month, but I just ordered 100 from 3rivers. In getting to know this bow, I've gone up in draw weight a few pounds, switched from a recurve to a longbow, and switched from 3 under to split. I'm shooting better than ever After twenty years of shooting traditional bows. Now all a have to do is find another one !!

Congratulations. Sounds like the bow really "fits" you. I hope that I can honestly say after 20 years of shooting I have to buy more knocks due to shooting them.

Jim makes a great bow. It's amazing how tiny it is with limbs less than 1" wide and tapering down to very small but fancy tips. I have shot deer and 3D with mine.

Here's a picture showing the bow between a GN Bushbow and a NM Baraga... :)

Junglehunter, I hate to tell you this but there's no bow make that you can't shoot as well as that Curlee unless it's heavier and shorter.

It might not fit you as well and it may take some time to shoot is as well, but you can. I've never had anything but short bows that I couldn't shoot well.

I think the reason is the arrow tune. If you have a bow that you can't shoot as well and you keep at it, you always, at least I do, end up doing something to the bow or change arrows, something.

Beautiful bow. I've had probably three dozen perfect bows over the years. Each one was the best for awhile until I found another one.

Best part is it cost me no $ out of pocket !! Traded a fly reel I've had for twenty years and never got wet. Makes it even better.

Mr. Stout already said it for me. I have had lots of best bows.

I guess I swim upstream...when I find "it", I keep "it".

Good on ya, mate! I've found "it" in one recurve & one longbow. The bowyer requested that I NOT mention his product on line...I respect his wishes.

Great guy...a true artist.

I know it's all subjective, but some bows just fit better and shoot better with no explanation... this is one of those bows.

I have had too many bows for many years, I can tell you this if you find one that really is special don't ever sell it or trade it. Those special bows don't come along that often.
