Well I messed up a first rat bow by a drilling too many holes so I started a new one so this is the rat bow redo. It is a 17 inch riser out of one and one half inch steel angle iron. The limbs are some old throw away limbs that I had laying around I haven't had a chance to get the draw weight. It shoots well but I need to build a new string. It's 64" nock to nock.

That's pretty darn cool. I don't see how it couldn't shoot well.

How did you do that grip?

I'm sure there is some real geometry and figures involved there, and I am not holding it, but how does the arrow miss the long side support to the riser? Looks to be several holes in this one as well??

The grip was just shaped out of scrap maple and then I used an 1/8" ball bit in a dremal tool to stipple it. The 4" shorter length helped stiffen it up so the holes don't seem to bother. The brace bar has three-quarter inch clearance for the Arrow to pass.

The draw weight ended up being 42 pounds at 28 inches

Not my cup of tea, but pretty cool. Give me wood. This is not a slam. JMO. I really do like it. ;~)

Nice.

When I made mine I carried the cut out for the sight window down the other side. Making the bow symmetrical, improves the grip and also by flipping upside and changing the grip can be shot with the other hand.

Cool idea Todd

Buzz I'm going to make a decal with that picture and put it on the riser

Very nice (as was Todd the archer's). I would incorporate a narrow bow quiver into the support arm (since it's right there anyway. - John

Well it's near finished but not sure what else I'll do to it. I must say my ears match the rat's

Did you steal that 8-ball from somebody's 3-on-the-floor conversion?
