Just taking a brwK from yard work and hd n idea. Probbly silly but,,,,, gun ma nufactures have shims for adjusting drop on a shotgun,,, so why not have them for tiller adjustment. Wouldnt take much. What do you think? Maybe its already being done. I figure for a 3 piece the shims would give the shooter more tuning options.

Crow, with a non ILF limb, you could eliminate the pin and install a half round, or like Martin/Howatt had..ball bearings to use for a pivot. Most compounds had that setup and lent itself to tiller adjustment as well as variation of weight.

It is a good idea. It isn't done because most of the systems use tightly fitted pins. I did have the Martin system with the ball bearings, and it worked out pretty well. Made the bow look like a compound, and the balls were always falling out.
I don't think the bow market has really adapted to the change that 3 under and string walking, and all that jazz represent, yet.
I will give you another example. Take Hill style bows. I shoot mine all three ways, and it works out OK. But if shooting one of the sight systems, there is no advantage in having the shaft buried in your hand. You aren't pointing any more, and the extra elevation of the bow hand just adds to the effort. Most ILFs can have this higher position due to the mechanics of the riser, though less often a really nice hand bury, or both.
Sure, it doesn't mater, we can make do, but there are all kinds of changes afoot out there, that aren't being reflected in every bow. One of the main advantages with custom bows was the low position for the arrow right in the hand which was no available in stock bows. Not the best position for everything though.

Crow even on your widow you could do it, just get some thin cork board and cut to size. Shawn

Yep. I learned that approach from Harold Groves years ago. He always said to just loosen the limb bolt, and shim the limb.
