I'm a fan of the Flipper as well as the Hoyt.

Cartel are a little sketchy. Hoyt are great. Bear weatherest is a little overbuilt and more rubberized

velcro

Old fashion Para or (brushrest). Have and tried Bear, Hoyt, flipper, springy. I do use an old springy rest on my Warf. Let's say I got a drawer full but the brush is simple, cheap and lasts long time. I had one failure back in 1988 shooting a BW 80#@28" using 2419 arrows.

Hoyt Super Rest, $2.50, and still used on some Olympic bows. I've used them for decades when not using my own.

I second George on the Hoyt Super Rest.

Hoyt Super Rest.

All my bows have it.

Stay away from the cheap one from Martin.

Today, I picked up 2 OMP stick-on rests at Johnson's Sporting Goods at Cooks Corners, Brunswick, Maine. They look like a Bear rest.

Hoyt Super Rest, the Bear is not terrible but I agree it is over built. I have made some that have held up well out of the plastic from a milk jug. Shawn

This is the best rest imho.

Saunders Whisper Rest that be right there.

From: Chas

That Sanders needs a treble hook, tie a mono leader and cast for pike with it. LOL

I'm kidding but it looks very functional and appears you can adjust the height?

The best for the least is Hoyt. The only Bear weather rest I tried, when I held an arrow by the nock and pushed it across the rest it skipped and hopped over the rubber. I didn't think that could be good and pulled it off. Have you ever seen the plastic strips that small items hang on it stores? They have little wedge shaped punch outs that are left attached on on end. Look exactly like arrow rests and each strip will make a dozen or so rests with just a little trimming and a piece of double sided tape.Free is good.>>>---->Ken

Hoyt Hunter - for hunting.

I like bear weather rest!

From: jimreed

Anyone know where one can buy a Saunders rest as pictured above?

From: nomo
Date: 21-Apr-17

I put on a Bear Weather rest years ago and have not bothered to change. I keep some extras around in case I acquire a new bow or someone needs one. Someday I might try a Hoyt, if I ever remember to order one when getting some archery gear. I've just always been happy with a WR so I keep buying them. "If it ain't broke..."

The Saunders Whisper-Rest is no longer available, at least like the one pictured.

From: George D. Stout Compton's Traditional Bowhunters

The Whisper rest was designed to "give", and slide forward on its base, it's not adjustable for height.

Have you ever pushed an arrow across a Bear Weather rest? Maybe your results will differ but it was an eye opener for me. Ken

I posted earlier but it got no comments. Maybe they are different now maybe I got a bad one but I pulled it off. I held an arrow by the nock and pushed it lightly across the rest, forward the direction the arrow fly's not drawing. It literally hopped and skipped over the rubber rest. I just didn't see how that could contribute to accuracy. Maybe it don't hurt don't see how it could help. Velcro, carpet,Teflon almost any thing is much slicker and smoother. The flipper or any wire rest is noisy especially with aluminium arrows, with out the Teflon sleeve. I don't believe I ever saw one with a rubber sleeve. Try it see what you think.Ken

O.K. great. I can't see that very close but see no signs of chatter like mine did. Is it still smooth when wet? I don't think I kept it but I am going to look for it. I am very curious now. Thanks.>>>------> Ken

Ken, Maybe yours had rough spots? The Bear is at least twice as thick as Hoyt. And the material is rubbery on the Bear as opposed to (I think) Nylon on the Hoyt.

These old Hoyt's are REALLY thin. A kind leatherwaller sent some to me a few years back. (Was that you George?)

Here is a Cartel. Note the steep angle and thickness. Not great. Also rough finish with plastic hanging off. An eBay dealer 'accidentally' sent me these instead of Hoyt

Hoyt

And Bear. The weatherest is substantially thicker too. Holds the arrow farther out than Hoyt. This one has had THOUSANDS of arrows through it.

From: 2 bears
Date: 22-Apr-17

You know looking at that rest,I may have had a Cartel rather than a Bear. It has been some time ago. I came to the conclusion it was the rubber causing the chatter though. I still haven't found that rest in the junk piles.>>>-----> Ken

I leeke the para rest. 3Rivers carries them. Feather rest is also nice.

I favor Hoyt Super Rest over Bear Weatherest, Pararest over either of those, and Ive toyed with the idea of re-creating a Herters ingle bunble brush rest.

I dont think of the Sanders as a stick-on rest, but leaving a Sanders Whipser Rest on a 1962 Bear Polar I traded away was hard to do..I love the way the shoot.
