Are there any stickbow shooters on here that are in the Greenville, SC area? I haven't found a lot of traditional archery activity around here. Looking for someone to shoot with.'

Hey Bill - I missed this post yesterday. I'm from Charleston, but there are a few Leatherwallers up your way. Type in Carolina roll call in the keyword search window and you should be able to pull up a thread from last year with some SC guys in it. Or you can copy and paste the link below.

My daughter lieves in the Charleston area so I get down there occasionally. I will check out that thread.

Carolina Traditional Archers is a very good traditional club. They put on a lot of shoots and an occasional hunt. They shoot near Hickory, NC. Do a web search and check them out. Great group of guys.

Ollie, I checked out the web site. I may try to get up there sometime but it is over 2 hours from where I live. Not someplace I would go on any regular basis. Just hoping to find someone near me who shoots a stickbow and might want to get together occasionally.

Live near Augusta GA. Check out Appling achers they have a shoot each spring in May. Check out their website. I would think there would be a few traditional archers in your area. Good luck with your search.

There are trad shooters down there. Check facebook,if you do that, and also tradgang. I just visited a fellow trad archer in Irmo a few weeks ago.

It is worth the drive to CTA. Well worth it. I am a member. First Saturday shoots each month. Meal. Fun. Sometimes we have auctions. We raffle off shotguns, bows, and other good stuff to raise funds for the club. You would mot be disappointed.

I'm about an hour North near Asheville NC.

I understand the need for closer companions to shoot with. "Only two hours" means four hours...two out and two back. That not something you want to do a couple times a week. I can drive to Pittsburgh in two hours, but I don't want to and it's not all that feasible. Good luck Bill, there ought to be some folks down there around your area.

Tomorrow 6AM I'm traveling 2.5 hrs to the Church Rock Shootout, organized by Spirit Canyon Archers and my Navajo friend, Charles Arviso (built my back quiver).

I don't mind the drive...gives me time to see my state and think about friends.

Maybe many of us can't afford that, but some of us certainly can, every so often, right? I barely can, but I'm doing it with joy.

We only live once: living today is the real game. Don't dwell in some fantasy past.

I hate driving across town let alone a couple hours.

Yep, it was very enjoyable shooting with redheadtwo and the other guys in our group. Very nice course and very pleasant company. For me the drive was a little less than an hour. I didn't mind it at all. I wouldn't do much longer drives on a frequent basis but as jk says it is nice to cruise through other parts of the state. And it was nice shooting somewhere other than my back yard.
