Ok, here's my dilema. The bow came in a little light. 62" 49 @ 28. I was shooting for 55. Should i cut 1.5 inches off the tips? If i do, how much more weight would i get? How short could i make it before it wouldnt take being drawn to 28"?

That's already plenty short. Generally speaking you gain 1-3# per inch you remove. But, removing length usually means some scraping to tidy up the tiller, which will get rid of a good bit you gained. Id be happy with it and start another if 55# is your ultimate goal.

Yes... enjoy it and make a new one... you did what looks like a good job so it's best to leave it alone.

You don't have a dilemma, you have one of many bows.
If you have a good one it doesn't matter what poundage, just make another a little heavier.....Great job.
I'm still trying for my first one.....Ron

Coming in weight comes with building bows, the more you build and tiller them the easier it gets!
