Good hearing is important when hunting. My dull hearing has been a handicap to me for many years. Last wk I had my surgery for the Cochlear hearing implant. If all goes well in a month I will be fitted for the external hearing Part..after that..the good Lord ..willing.. I will be able to hear theturkeys gobble when I hunt them. To all who expressed kind wishes for me I thank you. I am at home and recovering well. I now consider myself a bit of an expert on hearing aids and implants and if any on hear would like advice from my experience just pm me. Thanks for looking..er..I mean..listening. Sandy

Best to you Sandy. I know a kid who has had those since he was very little, born deaf. He does hear now. TK.

Hey Sandy. Had a big flock of birds cross the road in front of me 2 days ago. I mouth called at them and got them gobbling and yelping back. The next time I see them I'll be thinking of you, and hoping you'll be hearing those birds too. Mike

Fantastic, I wish you the best. It is a real treat to be able to hear wild life. I have a terrible ringing in one ear but fortunately can still hear, out where it is quiet, pretty well. A group of folks talking or a phone gives me fits though. Best wishes >>>-----> Ken

I'm no where near that point with my hearing but my doctor has warned me I may be in my old age if I wasn't careful. let us know how it works out. I have a co-worker that his son had to have the implant. helped that young man tremendously.

Your 75 percent of the way to the world of strutting gobbler calls. Look like your doing well and ready. Make sure to let us know how it all comes together! Newt

Good for you on pursuing this. Hope it turns out great!

Great news! I wish you tremendous success!! And then enjoyment in hearing everything!

I am dealing with an ear issue as well. My hearing is more bone conduction than air conduction, and can work. I rely on hearing aids to hear most turkey sounds unless close. Going later this month for a ctscan.

Bone conduction hearing is very important and can work well - I hope it is wonderful for you!

Dang now Sandy will be able to hear the jokes we make at his expense.

Get well soon, hope you can hear a pin drop when you are recovered. Forrest

Really hope all goes well with the implant Sandy. Nothing like being able to hear the critters around you. We had a flock of 19 toms and hens just down the road from us this morning. They are still fighting 2 feet of snow but are moving back in for the spring hunt. Best wishes to you!

Now you will be able to hear if someone talks behind your back. LOL

They might think you didn't hear them and you can say I heard that?LOL

Now also you might not want to hear everything and might wish you didn't hear certain things.
