First time I've tried this may have been beginners luck. Full length shafts impacted tail left, adjusted brace 1/2" higher still tail left. Trimmed 1/2" off shaft still slight left tail. Trimmed another 1/4" better yet, took another 1/4" off Yahtzee!! impacted straight in. Whole process took me less than hour. Not a waste off time because the arrow isn't depending on fletching to stabilize it. Oh yeah this was at a distance of 20 yards.

But where did they hit in relation to your vertical aiming line? You can very easily get an arrow that's too stiff, or too weak to impact straight in the target. But it doesn't mean it's the right arrow.

Frank they landed centerline on the target.

Ok in my mind bare shafting is fine tuning a shaft that is correct for your set up. Not correcting a shaft that terribly over or under spined for your set up ie impacting way left or right of center of your aiming line.

If they were landing on the center line, that's the ticket.
There are so many different ideas and ways that people use bareshafting anymore that you really have no idea what someone is talking about when they mentione it anymore.
There have been so many instances of people talking about bareshaft tuning that are incapabple of sonistently shooting 5' groups at 15 yards consistently.
I happen to agree with your use of bareshaft tuning.

I agree that tuning by impacts is more "manageable" but it sure is nice to have them going straight in.

I agree with fdp and MGF. The best thing to do is impacts first and then if the bare shaft isn't flying straight a couple of twists or untwists of the string will do it.
MnM, I'm afraid you're not done yet. Put a broadhead on and see if it impacts in the same spot as your field point.

Black Widow has a very good video on bare shaft tuning. Watching the shaft fly down range works great for me and easy. All you need is one arrow.

I never saw the point. Once you do whatever you need a tip and feathers therefore a whole new arrow is created, that performs different.

If you arrows with feathers shoot where you look why mess with them?

If your arrows fly and IMPACT good without feathers, just think how good they'll fly with feathers.
In fact you can get arrows to fly perfect, then put on a broadhead and they'll fly like Obama's presidency.

Field point left arrow broadhead right arrow. Didn't think to take pic till after I fletched up but the result was the same, close enough for me.

I guess your correct. I hate poverty and the people who promote it. I give the people who vote for it a break. On the other hand I'm not so fond of the people who vote with PETA and against the NRA.
