Just curious how many are still deer hunting... Feel fortunate to still be hunting until end of January in WI metro unit... find myself thoroughly enjoying my sit tonight on a very mild (high 30's) afternoon... I'm just sure the deer will cooperate on such a gorgeous evening. Hope you all can enjoy a few more good sits this season as well!

Nope, gets this late in the season I just don't enjoy badgering them anymore.

That's an interesting take on things... a bit of a stretch to say one is badgering the deer while on stand waiting for one to pass by, not to mention that the deer herd here is very healthy and that there are many that won't survive our winter... and for me at least it's not all about the kill (although I will take my shot if it presents itself), for me there is more than a little peace & therapy that I find in the woods that I've been unable to match elsewhere, except maybe on the trout stream... just grateful that I have 10 more days to enjoy the season where in many states it's already shut down.

Agree Oly. Had about 10 around my stand the other night and just enjoyed watching them interact. Didn't want to shoot. They were antsy though. Still wired like crazy. I suppose I would be too if I'd been pushed around for the last couple of months with the possible end result not being the best. One more week or so of winter bow here in NJ. Next Saturday a bunch of us are getting together for one last day. Doing some pushes. Don't think the deer have much to worry about though. More like a social outing and we do have a good time.

No meat in the freezer yet this year - so I am still out as well. Good luck Oly.

I never hunted after gun season for years then I tried it and now the later the better for me. I actually look forward to late season, it'll make you a better hunter for sure as they are super alert and pick up on everything at least where I live.

Thanks everyone for the feedback, good luck to you all that are still hunting and I meant no disrespect to JusPassin, to each there own... personally I love the late season almost more than the rut... it seams everything just comes together and is just a bit more laid back... I also enjoy the challenge that the MN & WI winters bring. Best of luck to Zonic & Stykman in closing out the season!
