There's a Jimmy Buffet song that says, "Reading departure signs in some big airport reminds me of the places I've been.." (Changes in Latitude)

As I start my 2017 shows this marks 32 years on stage. Hard for me to believe that it's been 32 years since Rev Stacy Groscup tossed an empty Pepsi can into mid air and challenged me to hit it. I did and that same day he put me in front of an audience.

So here we are 32 years later. Sadly we lost Stacy September 20, 2005. He and I last performed together when he was 82 in 2003. He hit the baby aspirin the 7th shot that day!

Archery has been very good to me and allowed me to meet folks from all walks of life and from all backgrounds. I have friends through archery that are lifelong friends.

If you have came to a show these last 31 years, thank you. If you haven't been to a show yet, I invite you. I'm proud of the family style message and hope that you will appreciate the accuracy of the exhibition. I wanted it to be one of a kind and allow me a format to promote a family friendly message and testimony for what God has done for me. It's His talent through my hands.

Frank, are you going to try the new Satori riser this year?

From: AspirinBuster
Date: 16-Jan-17

I just saw it. I might, it looks pretty good. My stage bows have already arrived but I may have to try one.

If you try one let me know what you think.

You have a 2017 schedule yet?

From: 4nolz@work

What will happen with Bass Pro buying out Cabelas?

From: AspirinBuster
Date: 16-Jan-17

Sir- I do know one of the upcoming shows is Denver, Co. Once I have a full schedule I will post it. My family and I moved in November so I am late getting the schedule complete.

Nolz I don't know. It's too soon to know. I've done shows for both Cabelas and Bass Pro. The owner of Bass Pro Shop's sister Ellie C. Saw my show at the Quail Unlimited convention in Kansas and soon after that I did some shows for Bass Pro. Fortunately I spread the shows out to a variety of places so that if one industry is slow others aren't. I do corporate appearances in Texas for oil companies and similar functions as well as other events. I've even done art shows and symphony events. When you entertain you go where the money is and where the gigs are.

It's been a fun 32 years. (46 years in archery and 32 on stage.)

God truly has blessed you Frank and I am sure you'll have at least another 32 years with Him by your side and in your corner!

32 years! Congratulations Frank. You must be doing something right! Great stuff!

Thanks Gang. When I started I wanted longevity. I wanted to do nothing else. I had a realtors and an auctioneers license by the time I was 21 or so. I also worked in my pop's archery shop. But my heart was always in archery and my shows and the ability to deliver a message.

I love this sport and thanks to my folks,Rev Stacy Groscup, Fred Bear, Earl and Ann Hoyt and a few others this is where I found the greatest opportunity to promote what God has done in my life. The accuracy gets their attention so the message can be heard.

I'm a thankful fella for sure. I've performed at everything from a possum festival (true story) to having 15,000 people in the audience. Performed on behalf of a president, and did private shows for celebrities.

But events like a special olympics or a small church camp was just as important to me. The message is what I feel is important. More so than the archery feats.

Thanks to you all.

If I retired tomorrow it's been fun. I hope to go as long as Stacy -- he was just as accurye T 83 as he was in his prime. Amazing man. I've always been "the kid" but bow that Fred and Stacy and those guys are gone I'm eventually gonna be the old man.

Congratulations, Frank. I know your folks are very proud of you. I saw them recently when I dropped by the shop. Your mom and I talked bear hunting for quite a while. She is some bear hunter. :o)

Leather- No FLA shows on schedule yet. I'd like to get back there. I've done shows in Lakeland, Jacksonville and Tampa.

Thanks Tonto!

Dave- Howdy- I always enjoyed your visits. Your wife was often with you, and sometimes Don Teter. That's been a day or two ago.

Mom shot her first deer with a Bear recurve around 1970/71. It was a button buck and was on a full run at about 28 yards. Pop missed it. That's a funny fact that we all enjoy laughing about these days. He didn't find it funny when I was a kid!

She took her 20th bear with a now last June at age 72. Yeah, that lady loves to bowhunt and especially bear hunt. I lucked out in the parental department.

Thanks for being a family friend all these years. I think I've known you maybe 30 years. Right?

Here is a photo from around 2000, at Stacy's Archery Hall of Fame induction. As far as I know this is the only time the three of us have been photographed together.

Safe to say those two gentleman set the bar high for exhibition shooters- Stacy Groscup with his recurve and 7 aspirin tablets in a row and Byron Ferguson shooting through a diamond ring with his longbow. Having seen both of their shows it's an honor for me to be in this photo with those two guys.

I still have one of your autographed pictures up in my office & it's a pleasure to explain each & every time what you stand for when I get ask. And yes, I even tell them how good of a shot you are. Getting them to believe me is the problem. Glad to have met you & see your performance. GOD BLESS

Basscat- Where did you see the show?

Yes, Frank, it has been exactly 30 years since I moved to this area and during the process I saw a sign along the highway that said Addington's Bowhunter Shop. I knew I had to locate that place after I got moved and settled in. Doesn't seem like it has been that long ago. :o)

My memory is usually pretty accurate. Your wife would sit in the brown bench while you shot in the indoor range or the 3-D range. She was always patient and nice.

Time flies pal. Hope all's well.

Appreciate all the folks that come to the shows. 32 years worth.

Here's a vintage one of a kind photo. This was the only time the three of us had a photo made together as far as I know.

Byron Ferguson, Rev Stacy Groscup and myself at the ATA show around 2000 when Stacy was inducted into the Archery Hall of Fame in Indianapolis, Indiana. Stacy and I sat with MR James and his wife that evening. It was a great event. Stacy was Humbled and was the 49th inductee. I met some of Bob Swinehart's family that evening. Mr Swinehart was voted in as #50 posthumously.

This was after the awards ceremony and it was cool to get this snapshot. I was Honored to stand with the most accurate recurve shooter of our time (7 aspirin in mid air in a row is Stacy's amazing record) and the best longbow shot of our time. it was. A fun day. I had nominated Stacy in 1990 and it took ten years for him to get in.

Very cool memory. I have one or two from the last 32 years...

Frank, wouldn't it be something if 2017 were the best year of them all for your shows?

And it well could be.

From: AspirinBuster
Date: 18-Jan-17

Thanks Deno!

FDP I know it's a year me and you are gonna plan a Texas hunt. I've lived here going on three years and have only hunted one full day, and that was on along ranch. I want to get after it and find a good lease...

Also- you and I are on a roll. You have tossed about 4 or 5 times and I've hit the baby aspirin the first shot every time. I ended 2016 with 3 first shot shows and two second shot shows. Not bad... I think I'm finally gettin the hang of it.

As long as all my family and friends are healthy it shall be a good year indeed my friend. Indeed.

Frank, my wife was really impressed that you remembered those times she sat on the brown bench patiently waiting for me. She is an exceedingly patient lady.

From: AspirinBuster
Date: 19-Jan-17

She had a quiet dignity and class. You could tell. I think like me you married up my friend. Haha. Please give her my regards.

As busy as I get I have so many fond memories of growing up at the shop. I literally grew up around archery 24/7. As a teenager the place we hung out was my parents indoor range after hours shooting archery. From the time I was 4 until now my life has always involved archery.

Frank, you described her perfectly.

I have three decades or more worth of friends from that archery shop preacher. (David). Most are t just customers they are friends. What a great way to grow up.

Awhile back critics here would question my ability to tune or set up a bow and I just laughed. Pop has forgot more than most will ever know and growing up at his feet I think I could tune a bow by age 12. I've seen a bow or two in my years around archery. They have a hanged a lot since 1971.

Special people and special times at the Shop. Thanks For being a friend.

I saw Stacy shoot at the Traditional Rendezvous in Dallas Pike, WV many years ago. He was unbelievable!! Saw Byron shoot in Columbus, OH if I remember correctly. And saw you at Cabela's in Wheeling, WV. All fine performances!!

Love the trick shooting !! Congrats and good luck for 2017 and beyond. Hope to catch you soon.
