So I picked these up on my local craigslist not long ago. From the picture I thought they were wood, then when I went to look at them I realized they are fiberglass and new in the box, never been shot. I don't know if I should shoot these or put them in a museum. I am guessing they are from the late 1950' or early 1960'. Can anybody date these accurately?

The are re-branded Micro Flite shafts. Kittridge put out a lot of re-badged private label stuff, bows made by Howatt, etc. Nice target shafts for a 45# recurve.

I shoot everyone I can get my hands on. Those are some of my favorite arrows. Heavy, very spine tolerant, and durable.

Mangonboat, I don't think they are Micro Flite's. Every spine chart I have seen indicates that a #5 spine would not be for a 45# Bow. I can't seem to find a chart that shows Gordon glass spine's.

They are Microflite but unbranded for Kittredge Bow Hut. The #5 will work on 45# as a 27" arrow, and light target tips. Most bows, when those arrows were made, were not cut past center so the lighter spine target arrows worked okay. Now if you start putting 25 grain bushings in them, and then 125 grain tips, you will have a different beast altogether.

Micro_Flight had two charts- one for hunting and one for target.
Hunting shaft generally was longer for broadhead clearance and the BHD was heavier.
The target chart was different due to shorter shaft possibly drawn up to rest and a lighter nib point.

If your going to shoot those arrows be sure to change the nocks first, that old there more than likely brittle.

UNHINGED? Just my personal opinion but I'm about 99.9% sure that those are definitely MICRO-FLIGHT SHAFTS. The color of the bare shafts was a BIG CLUE and then I looked at the points. I had a dozen MF shafts back in the day . I think # 7's ? and the points are exactly the same. Per aromaker's advice? Highly suggest that You check out and maybe REPLACE the PLASTIC NOCKS! Those things can get brittle over time. With RESPECT Batman

Hey thanks you guys! I had not seen that chart yet So is any one able to date these? I wish I had some of the old Bow hut catalogs. I remember mail ordering from them a long time ago. It seems the consensus is to shoot them, after I change the nocks

No zip code on the box, address is before the move to Mamoth Ca. I would guess closer to 59 or 60.

I was off a little first zip was 63 and they moved in 63 so it would have to be before 1963.

Micro Flite shafts did not come on market until 1960.
