Great morning at the range with my Howard Hill Owl - limbs are bamboo core and Osage outer, bubinga riser, 45lbs @ 28 inches (my draw length) 70 inches, which Craig made for me a few years ago. Tuned perfectly, at least for me, with 1816s, 29 inches and 125 gr points.

Back in the day, we had just wood, fiberglass and aluminum arrows, the latter were considered the best, expert level...how times have changed! I still like aluminum arrows with their heft, durability and accuracy. Their cost, even XX75s (Jazz and Blues), are near raw wood shafts, and much less expensive than carbons (which are great in their own right).

The best arrows made still have aluminum in them...the X-10, a hybrid no less. 8^). Nothing beats aluminum for consistency, but there are plenty of good choices nowadays...even carbon. 8^).

Great bow. But you don't have to apologize for shooting aluminum.

: EricPootatuckArchers,

(Easton)Jazz makes that arrow in 1816- very cheap and easy to assemble

add a screw in judo and white feathers against that purple shaft and very visible- and belive it or not they hold up great for stump shooting

I use the 2016 (Jazz) with an aluminum adaptor and a glue on judo out of my Wallace Mountain longbow alot for stumping- holds up great Douglas fir also holds up very well stumping

I use the 1820's a LOT.

I like 1820s as well, heavy shaft. They work well from my Osage Abbott 45 lbs longbow.
