Someone recently posted about a high temperature spray finish for rims or wheels, which was very good on bows.

I can't find the thread and I lost my notes. Can someone please post the brand name of said spray can? Thank you.

it was posted on another site but brand I believe is VHT high temp . apparently Duplicolor is not as good.I have used it here in Australia [VHT] and it is a good , very hard finish.

Be careful using automotive type products on bows. I did some experimenting with clearcoats and found that they are so hot that they will melt and cause polyurethane and varnish finishes to blister. I even touched up a small area on top of Thunderbird finish and ended up with a mess. Now, I keep an old beater bow in the shop to use for finish compatibility testing.

VHT appears best but whenever using two different finishes together be sure to do a test sample. I'll be doing a sample test using both VHT and duplicolor so I'll start a new thread when it's finished. I've not noticed a temperature change when using these if that's what you mean Brad. Though it caused some blue spray paint to wrinkle though didn't effect flat camo paint.

Dupli Color makes a wheel paint sealer. A friend of mine has used it on knives and bows with super results. Its dries in minutes.

I didn't notice any smoke. I did notice that there were several hours work ahead of me to fix the problem .
