I had purchased a hummingbird bow via this site a few years ago and was amazed at the skill of the man that made it. I searched his website... saw other bows he had made...some videos he made on how to take care of your hummingbird bow...kinda felt a kinsmanship with him. Earlier this year I called him up...Talked with him about an hour. He ended up making me some beautiful limbs that were not quite as heavy as the ones that came with my bow. I have come across very few men that have a profound effect on me...just from talking with them on the phone. His patience, skill, and systematic thought process impacted me. He never interrupted me(although I did him) and would pause before responding to me, making sure I was through talking and thinking of his words before saying them. I could tell that he was kind, gentle, and confident man...And that he had the Holy Spirit living in him... I am saddened to know that he is gone....But am happy to know that Heaven is a better place

I mentioned to Linda that several folks have expressed condolences on many archery web forums. She asked that a photo of Ben's casket arrangement be added so folks could see how nicely decorated it was with Ben's archery gear. So, for Linda....here it is.

Hello, My name is Tim Graham, Bens son. I am new to this site. Linda wanted me to see the pouring out of prayer for my dad and his family. I would like to thank each one of those who have expressed praise, prayer and encouragement. It is a tremendous impact on Linda, myself and the rest of our family. We are touched by each one. I have always been proud of my dad and his skills in the archery field. When I see the impact he made on so many folks around the world..........words just cant describe the new level of pride I have for my dad. My dad was a Godly man and used his talent to minister to anyone he dealt with about his Saviour Jesus Christ. Bens dedication to his faith has been and encouragement to many. I will miss my dad tremendously. I thank God for our time together. I thank God for His mercy in my dads last days that were difficult for all. I pray Gods blessings for all who knew my dad and appreciated his talents and Faith. Thanks to all.

I haven't been on the site in several weeks, so I am just seeing this. This is sad news indeed.

I am fortunate to own one of Ben's longbows; an exceptional example of function meeting form. After buying it from Ben out of his in-stock inventory a couple of years ago, it was easy to understand how Ben and Linda had earned such a stellar reputation in the traditional bow hunting community.

Wishing you Gentle Winds, Ben, as you make your home among Angels and the Divine.

I haven't had the desire to write on this thread since Ben's passing. Ben is solely responsible for starting me on my traditional archery journey in life. I was ready to give it up but he wouldn't give up on me. We shot together, hunted together, and laughed together. The Lord surely brought this great man into my life to make it better. I will miss him dearly he was a mentor, hunting partner, and more than a friend. LH

I did not really know Ben and Linda but my wife and have gone to all the Compton shoots and some Cloverdale and one IBO. Admired Ben's work often. Spoke to him a few times and knew him to be just as his close friends say. My wife did spend some time with Linda at Compton one year and they seemed to hit it off well. I am sorry to hear this sad news.

I too was sad to hear of Ben's death. My first custom was a Kingfisher lb 3-piece. A true work of art. I had been taking out my Bob Lee this season but after reading about the news about Ben, decided to try and take a deer with that Kingfisher. Thought it would be a fitting tribute to a wonderful bowyer and man. Had my chance this morning. Hit an injured buck this morning, a small three point (was totally missing its right rear leg) and thought it needed to be put down as it would probably face difficulties with the coming winter. Sad to say I was not able to recover the animal. Hit it a little too high. To be sure, it wasn't the bow. Twas I. I will continue hunting with the Kingfisher until I fulfill my objective. I hopefully will have some good news shortly. My condolences to the Graham family.
