Does anyone make inserts that add length to an arrow? Let's say you cut your arrow to short and you want to weaken it up by adding length. Thanks

Adding weight to the front would weaken it for sure. If were talking about a alum. or carbon arrow I guess you could find a arrow a little larger in diameter (like footing) and cut off the extra length and epoxying it on. Not sure how save that would be.

I have tried several ways of doing it, none worked well. The best answer is to add more weight at the point or buy new shafts.

I do it all the time. Just need the right diameter carbon or aluminum piece to fit tight inside the shaft you want to lengthen.

The arrow stretchers are generally right next to the board stretchers at your local hardware store.

Do you need to make it longer...or decrease the spine? Not the same thing or process.

You said inserts so I figure your talking carbon or aluminum, if it was wood reparrows work great.

An aluminum adapter sold by 3R will glue on and add weight and 1.5" . But it has threads for screw on type heads.

I've used Nib points for aluminum splicing. Heat the point and pull it out and you have a 2" aluminum splicer that fits into the shaft. A little epoxy and you have a new arrow. Of course you need the correct size of Nib point to work. Never had one break or pull out. I do it on those arrows that impacted a rock or something.

So far I don't have a solution for carbons.

For wood, Reparrows.

Gold tip FACT System Nock Adapter will add an inch to the back of the arrow. That's what I was looking for.

You realize that regardless of where you add length, you are going to change the spine right?

From: 56' Kodiak

Absolutely......that's a point where you can't add anymore weight to the front of your arrow.....only solution is a longer arrow

The problem is....you've added weight to the back as well. Which typically stiffens dynamic spine. Meaning, that you may very well have to add more weight to the front to get back where you were. Maybe not, but it's likely.

My first shot would have been building out the sight window, reducing centershot, which will decrease spine every time.

Carbon arrows aren't quick to react dynamically by adding weight. But, they react VERY quickly when you increase or decrease centershot.

Maybe a long aluminum footing and use the insert for the aluminum arrow being used?? Not sure how well this would hold up though.

Why not just add point weight?

Wood footing, add as much length as you want. Two point is easy to do.
