will upload photos if that it's working, have been stymied twice auction site # 331986028422 photos there
has what looks to be a zebrawood riser, though very dark, cream colored glass but tobacco smoke stained, no decals or markings or script anywhere. 3 lams in the limbs, 2 on the belly one on the back, 3 dark wood lams on the riser back, with one on the belly, but the riser is tapped for a plunger?--shelf is slightly radiused--very small tips like older wings, but only 3 layers?...I am confused. OK photos wont post, will keep trying

Okay....I found it in completed listings. It's a Wing Presentation, before they made the Presentation II takedown and called it Presentation I. Did you buy it?

sorry about my lack of tech skills...I did buy it...it came with an old string so I strung it up, feels like a low 30's draw weight andshoots well; limbs are straight and the tips are clean--was surprised about the lack of decals, scripts etc...thanks for looking it up George, I appreciate it. If I can figure out how to resize these photos I've taken, will post them--am I close with an early-mid 1960's date?

Without decals or logos and numbers to go by, I would guess mid 1960's. Kelly Peterson is our resident Wing expert, so maybe he will pop in after while. It reeks of Wing Presentation...tips, riser, etc. It's gorgeous as well and those bows represented themselves well on the tournament lines.

Sorry for the wrong side up photos. This bow had what I thought was tobacco smoke staining but it looks now to me as if someone brushed on finish, maybe varnish? At some point, its very easy to scratch and will flake off with a fingernail, see this pic...whats the best way to strip this off and is there much chance of doing any damage to the glass? Do I just sand it off? Thanks for any suggestions on this...got a new endless from 60x, took her out to the range, she scales at 38# at 28", smooth draw and a well behaved shooter, certainly better than I am..interested in getting this topcoat of whatever it is off as the entire bow looks quite yellow, even the riser and the lams.

Nice Presentation! Looks like a 1965 or 66? Doesn't look like it has the tiny tips and multiple thin light and dark "stepped" wood veneer lams on the belly side of the sight window, i.e., a 1962 "Outlaw", and the grip swell suggests 65 or 66.
Most folks advocate against using any chemical stripper, even the citrus-oil ones, on any laminated object but especially not a bow where the integrity of the laminations is critical to the function. The chemicals can soften and destroy the glue bonds. I use a very slightly curved blade of a pocket knife or even the straightback side of a knife blade as a scraper to get most of the finish off, just be careful to hold it nearly 90 degrees to the surface so it doesn't dig in and on the corners, including the limb corners, as you dont want to gouge or start a glass sliver. That should get the great majority of it off, then finish with fine sandpaper.

Awesome, thanks mangonboat..I was thinking of a citrus based stripper, but will go with the blade and fine sandpaper..I think it may be a 65, but thats just a guess based on a picture of an old wing catalog...definitely isnt the outlaw version, and I was pretty sure it was a presentation, but wasnt certain based on the shape of the grip swell, and the complete lack of any decals or script...has a great grip shape for me, shoot beautifully, gotta love these older wings...they are holding up better than I am 8)

That is not zebrawood, rather is a gorgeous Brazilian Rosewood handle, looks like green glass on back, white glass on belly and those tips are pretty tiny with that dime laying there for comparison.
So you are saying there is no writing, serial number, bow weight and length nor a Wing decal on this bow? If so, then it already has been poorly refinished. If all the Wing logo and writing is there I wouldn't touch it.
My guess is it is a 1963 or 1964.

Thanks Kelly and Bill! I really appreciate all the info from you guys on the bow. The glass is actually white on both the belly and the back (must be a reflection in the photo?),but absolutely no decals or script at all here. It doeslooks like what you saw Kelly, a poorly done refinish--There were brush marks at the edge of the riser and drip lines on the inside of the riser by the sight window. Hey Mangonboat thanks for the tip! I did use the back side of a butter knife to carefully scrape the old finish off the limbs, and it all came up pretty easily--have already set up with John at Bow Hospital to do a refinish, since the butter knife work is the outer limit of my skill set 8). Will be sending her out tomorrow...approx 12 weeks turn time, so will post new photos when she makes her way back...

yeah...I thought grain looked like zebra wood, but not the color. I have a 1964-64ish Wing Gull with a zebrawood riser and the grain pattern is quite similar...just uncertain on this bow since the varnish or shellac that a previous owner used to refinish the bow is quite dark and yellow. The wood may be a couple of shades lighter, like the limbs turned out to be when I took off the old finish; will have a better look after the refinish I guess. But I'd be thrilled to have it be rosewood. In any case it's a looker and a great shooter, so I am a happy camper either way

Absolutely 100% Brazilian Rosewood. The Presentation, which this bow is, was made when Wing was in Houston, TX and never used Zebrawood in this model. Some earlier version like the Outlaw were made from Bubinga which is also a type of Rosewood.
How does it shoot? Should be great.

Thats very cool news, thanks Kelly, I would never have been able to find that out. Shoots great, scales out at 38# at 28", very smooth draw, great grip, quick. I am really liking this bow...I am mainly a Howatt fan, but have picked up a Red Wing Hunter and a Gull also in the past year and am really happy with all of them, easy to shoot, just handle really well for me, great design--not a lot of frills, just solid shooters. All of them are keepers, in my book.

Hey guys...shout out to John Rafferty at The Bow Hospital...he did a fantastic job on a refinish of my Wing Presentation. Looks like a new bow! When I picked this bow up from the big auction site it had a very poor refinish done, had no decals or writing, and it glass and the wood had a very yellowed cast. John does beautiful work!

Q: Is this a Wing or a knockoff? A: It's a Wing...AND a knockoff, of the 1960 FASCO Phantom, LOL!
Just having a little fun with you, Dean! But you'd better make sure and count how many maple lams are in the limbs...

Yes, that picture I posted is the 1960 FASCO Phantom pistol grip model, which came our a year before any Wing Presentations showed up--solid Brazilian rosewood riser with ornamental maple lams. Here's the tip details from the Phantom.
This is not intended as a knock on Bob Lee by any means. I still think the 1962 Presentation is the prettiest recurve I've ever seen. But...that super-clean rosewood and maple combo pretty much began with Wilson White at FASCO, as best I can tell.

Hahahaha....always something with these bows. Thanks also to davidross for posting pictures of his awesome collection....back to the drawing board, and down to the basement for some painters tape to cover the decal! 8)

Well, the good news is it's still a great bow! Nobody was making a better bow than FASCO in those days, IMHO. Check it closely to make sure Skookum didn't scratch his initials on it somewhere, heheh...
