Hey Ken, looking for my first as well 7 years trad now. Had a few shots and a few close in counters. All the best to all this season. Straight arrows boys.

Ken, good to see your name again. I remember you from over on the TG sight that was many years ago. I also bought a Bear Kodiak from you and it's still flinging arrows.

Anyway, best of luck and have a great hunt!

Have a good one

Gil from WA state but maybe back to Oregon soon

Hi,

Must be hard to find cedar arrows(without footing) for a 77# bow. Especially if you draw length is more than 26" (according to the stats of the bow I would say: BW). Still. at max. 20 yards it doesn´t matter. See - aim - kill.

I wish you all the luck (if you need any at all , that is), because basically hunting is skill and not luck.

shoot straight - skookum bow

you can do it this year, just be patient, thats the key,, get a good close shot and you will close the deal :)

I'm on my 4th year and still trying to get a whitetail with a stick. 1st year hit one high and have been very shoot shy since. Good luck.

Take your time and burn a hole in the spot and watch your arrow go right through whatever your shooting at.Steady at the shot and think positive and bare down. Get the eye of the predator stay focused think only of the shot over any over in your mind not whats been past.

There is such a time when its just time no matter what you do. We hope its that very time for you.

Board up the negativity room do not open it for just a peek.

If you shoot like you did last weekend you are good to go my friend.Good hunting!!!!!

draw length is 26, bow is #80@28 so I figure i'm pilling 76 or 77, arrows are spined at #80 and fly well, they were a gift from a good friend as was the bow and broadheads.

Best of luck! Don't dwell on the past, just try to learn from it. Sounds like a great spot you have. Wait for the right shot and concentrate in spite of the "heavy breathing" and you'll do fine.

Relax and go with the attitude that' it will be a great weekend deer or no deer.

shooting rock solid right now self imposed max range of 15 yards and i'm hunting thick stuff, ton of deer feeling good!

Shot placement is everything. I no longer subscribe to the broadside shot. If you want to see the deer go down, catch the deer angling away. I want to be tight behind the shoulder angling forward of the off side leg. If it hits the off side leg that's ok. I had 8 go down in sight, made a bad shot for a long tracking job, then 9 that piled up in sight. I have had a lot of long blood trails on my hands and knees trailing the perfect broadside hit. Good luck

using 55-75 Gold Tips, 50 grain insert and 300 grain Big Jim 3 blade for total arrow weight of 700 grains on the nose, hope to run one of them through the ribs...
