I got brand new Bear Takedown. B riser and #1 limbs. As i draw i can hear the small cracking noise. I cannot figure out if it's coming from the riser where limb attachment or it's from the limbs itself. The limb attachment system is weird, screws to the riser and there's a foam gasket as well. I dry fired bow once, the arrow nock was too loose. But the limbs looks straight. Help?

If it is a creaking noise, most likely slight play in the limb pocket. I had that happen with mine, graphite powder worked to silence the bow. There are other methods as well that are listed in previous forums on here. When the limb is latched in the pocket unstrung, is there ant play ? If so that is most likely creating the noise. I have noticed some sets of limbs fit snug, others sometimes have a looser fit. It has not seemed to hurt the shootability, but the noise can be irritating.

Some limb/riser combos creak. There are several post here if you do a search. Try putting some vasoline on the locator pins.

I just wanted to make sure there's no structural damage. The bow shoots great. I just never experienced anything like that with any of my bows. That limb attachment system is really annoying. There's no play in the pocket when unstrung. That gasket is keeping limbs nice and tight.

I put deerskin under mine, but it's a home-made Warf. The deerskin worked great.

Sounds like something more than what happened to me once, but as silly as it sounds my problem was wax on the bowstring was sticking and making a popping sound.

Had a similar experience - was the wax on the string at the limbs contact area.

People say it's the little posts that hold the limbs in place. I've heard of people removing them to solve the problem. I use wax myself.

Do not recall Bear TD with a foam gasket? That said I have used thin foam between the limb and socket to eliminate that creaking noise. I have also taken out the screw that acts like a limb alignment pin. Have tried wax, lubes, but the thin foam works best for me.

OK, but on my risers that is leather. Looking at the picture I see no issues. Only time I have heard of problems with the socket is when the wood gave way. Another area that might cause a noise. Where the butt of the limb butts into the socket. I have seen guys put stick on felt on the butt ends of limb. That I have an issue with. The limb is not fully seated in the socket. Then the latch has a hard time snapping down into place like yours is in pic. Do you have a tight fit with the latch down in place? If so I would go with the wax method as mentioned in above posts. Believe it or not those bows are built pretty rugged.
