I got my $99 eBay riser.I got to say its hard to compare with.I put TradTech medium recurve limbs on it.These had no markings but I was told 48#.I think they are rated on an 18" riser and the China Mag was ~17.25.All the way down they scaled 52#@28"(again they weren't marked-so I'm not sure it compares)

I robbed a string off an unfinished 15" Brack Quest riser that I put Samick Squall limbs on- it was a 60" bow the ChinaMag+mediums was actually ~59.5".Strung profile.

The bow shoots great, very pleased,<$200 total. The one piece molded shelf/strikeplate is a stroke of genius-it fits in the plunger hole so an adjustable plunger could be used if desired.

My OP should read "hard to compare with".

For no reason compare the unstrung profiles of the Brack/Squall to the China/TT.The TT have a tighter "recurve" and the limb tips unstrung as in front of the riser.

That's a heck of a deal for an ilf riser.

Keep us updated Mike.

I think if I back it out it will be more or less as marked on the TT limbs-with longbow limbs I bet it would be excellent without alot of deflex in the riser? Ill play with it this weekend.

Yes, you just have to back it out a few turns. I've shot mine a few times but I've got my hunting rig dialed in on another riser and don't want to change my string twist for the China mag. Need to get an extra string....

In my brief testing it wasn't immediately as quiet as my tradtech wood Riser and I haven't experimented enough to see how much I can quiet it down. It feels nice in the hand though

4nolz@work: Thanks for the pictures. How does the grip feel? And does the limb hardware seem solid?

From: 4nolz@work

Really nice, moderate height, the hardware is solid but proprietary you need to be sure to lock it down with a set screw or the bolt may break.

I have been looking at these in my watch list. Really don't need another bow but ...

How would you compare it to a BB warf for example?

MUCH better probably half as heavy and shorter

I backed it out 4 turns and it was 48#

Hi,

I like your man cave sign.

Actually if you shop around, you don´t always have to buy high priced merchandise to get a good shooting bow. I am a firm believer in the Cartel Fantom riser in the 25" unit. I don´t care if it says "made in Korea" on it - Bang for the buck, it is one of the best units you can buy on the market. I have two of them by now - one with Border lims and one with Axiom+ limbs. I really like the one with the Border limbs and that is the bow that I take with me when I go on job sites - when others hit the bar/pub, I hit my hay bales and have fun. To each his own.

shoot straight - skookum bow

PS I contacted them for spare hardware "in case" and they very quickly sent me more than I asked for-not just limb bolts but also limb bed hardware.

This is a NICE riser the PRICE just happens to be nice also.

Looks good i have been watching those also.

Hey that other bow that is laying beside it ,did you make those limbs?

From: 4nolz@work
Date: 06-Oct-16

No those are Samick Squall limbs on a Brackenbury unfinished riser.

These sellers are going the extra mile. I have a feeling they are developing a new product to be rebranded.

From: Sipsey River

I bought one of these risers. I put 40# Black Max limbs on it and they weighed in at about 48# which are too heavy for my old shoulders. If anyone needs any of the rests that came with this bow, as pictured above, I have several extras.

My tradtech recurve limbs were spot on.Sure yours were marked properly?

From: 4nolz@work
Date: 06-Oct-16

Did you sell the limbs? I might be interested in them and the rests.

From: 4nolz@work
Date: 07-Oct-16

Sipsey did you scale your 40#ers on any other riser? TTT

From: Katman
Date: 07-Oct-16

Nice, keep us posted on how the longbow limbs work out.

Are those limb alignment screws on the sides of the riser?

From: Sipsey River
Date: 07-Oct-16

No, I bought the riser to use with the 40# limbs to hunt with. But when I weighed them at 48, I put the limbs on my Excel to get the lighter weight. I have to be very careful with weight because of shoulder issues.

I need to sell the riser or get lighter limbs.

Katman, yes those are limb alignment screws on the sides. These are nice riser, especially for the price. It took a long time to get it, but for the money, it is hard to beat.

Do they make it as a left hand version? I couldn't find one on flea bay.

I have what i believe is the model up from this riser - the one with the cut-outs and sold as a Big Rock Pharos by Lancaster. At least I think it is the model up, they look to be about the same geometry and are/were available from the same seller.

I'm not an ILF expert but the riser is very nice for the price. I have some SF foam/carbon limbs on it and it shoots very quiet (without any real work) and is vibration free. In fact, a couple of weeks ago I injured my left hand and bashed up my last two fingers. Once they healed a bit I still wasn't able to shoot my one piece recurve which seemed shock free before because of the vibration. I can shoot the ILF bow no problem. There is no buzz at all.

I found mine used and got a very good deal.
