I was checking out the classifieds and noticed I couldn't find a single Dryad bow. What are folks opinions on them?

I have a 2009 Orion recurve, 50", 53#. It's a shooter. Light in hand for carrying, shoots where you point it and sends an arrowdown range with significant velocity. Mine's a special custom that I adopted; its kinda purty, too. Pic in today's First Shot of the Day thread. New ones are a bit more standardized but the new ACS limbs are rocket-launchers.

MWestvang made wood bows and composite bows at first with "the windtalker" then as his son started in business they progressed to glass lam bows of all types including ILF.I'm not sure what is currently being produced I'm sure there's a website.

I have two, both Orion's,ACS design with carbon limbs. A recurve the other a longbow. Both are 17" risers, the recurve gains its horse power early in the draw but is very smooth as you draw and even seems to lessen pull towards the end at full draw. If that makes any sense. The longbow is more linear in its draw picking up very gradual to full draw. The risers have smallish grips, "narrow" which I really like, light to medium heft in the hand, again, exactly what I like. The riser is built like a tank but very pleasant to the eye with good design. My draw length is quite long at over 31". The recurve takes 340 spine arrows and the longbow 400 spine carbons at mid forty's draw weight, the arrows are in the 600 grain weight area. Both have above normal speed, definately noticeable. Nice bows, I doubt I will be shooting anything different any time soon.

Know the Westvangs for years now, Broke down and bought one their Soothsayer bows, bamboo backed osage, at MoJAM when they used to set up regularly.
Recently picked up a Sheepeather Spirit static recurve bow made by Dryad. Darn nice little bow, light poundage and shoots at above average speed. No longer made, apparently a short run of production.

I have two sets of Epic RC ILF limbs and a set of ACS LBX longbow limbs all with DAS fittings. They are superb. The Epic limbs have to be some of the best value priced limbs in archery. Just outstanding.

I think they have really done well with the ACS limbs. They do a superb job of explaining how they work and why they will improve your perfomance. My daughter shoots an ilf setup with longbow acts limbs. It is by far the most accurate bow she has shot. I have an ilf with epic recurve bamboo limbs. It took a long time to figure out the tune for my shooting style, but once I did, I am now shooting the best I have in years.
