50's style recurve everyone seems to want. American Archery Cheetha model bow, Clarendon Hills, I'll. top to bottom, 68" 45@28 four laminations in limbs, black n white tip overlays, most likley maple handle. Light yellow in color. All three same build n materials, bottom one has light green glass on front. Second one is 64" and 52@28 in need of a refinish. Third is 64" and 56@28. Handles are wrapped with the skived leather of the older Bear bows. They are thick of limb and smooth shooting bows.

Very nice...I'll fix that picture for you.

I have a later Cheetah Special Hunter but one of those would be a nice addition to my collection.

Thanks Peter

Is that a forward handle one Lance? JF

JF, I'm no expert but that's what I think it is. It shoots really nice and is soft in the hand. If someone has more info please pipe in, I'm all ears. Lance.

Never heard of them, but now I kinda want one. Dang it. I was trying to curb the addiction.

I grew up about one mile from AA in Clarendon Hills. When I was a Senior in High School AA was bought by some investors and moved to Oconto Falls Wisconsin. I've had all the Cheetah models, and I truly believe they are all great shooters. I also believe the earlier ones that are straight with highly curved tips are the best shooters. My favorite AA bow is the Oconto Falls made "Cheetah Special Hunter", just because of the "I-Beam" riser. Love the way they look.

Don't spread the word. They are still affordable and better shooters than many late 50's bows...and early 60's for that matter. No sense in giving away the farm. 8^))). Yeah...you can make one similar Frank, but it won't be a Clarenton Hills Cheetah. 8^)

Yep, junk Bows don't even try to shoot one, they'll come apart. Send them to me and I'll give them a proper disposal ;) I grew up in Illinois,on the West side. JF

Nice stable of AA bows. Can anyone elaborate on the history of the bows and the company?

George you are correct. Those bows have classic beauty.

Papa Doc, you have the ultimate AA Cheetah. Just because of that stamped leather grip. I thought I'd seen every year Cheetah, all the variations, even some Cheetah prototypes. Since I first saw your Cheetah a couple of years ago on this forum, I have seen one other. I still don't know when or why AA made this leather gip on such a limited run. And yes, I'm stil jealous, lol!
