I use the Duravane 3d's in 2.3" and 3". They're relatively short, flexible and work in just about every bow I own from wood longbows to ILF riser bows. Just the ticket for rainy day 3d shoots (where allowed).

I don't use vanes on "trad" arrows, only my target arrows.
Just be careful. Vanes weight more than feathers, it can be as much as 4x more. In some cases that can really mess things up. They will also require a different and tighter tune.

I use AAE and Flex fletch. The latter are a low cut, 3.5" bananas. The AAE are 4". The Flex fletch just looked to cool to pass up. I use a raised rest on my recurves, brush rest. I starting using vanes back in 72 with my first Bear SK. I mainly use them now on arrows that may not come back. They are cheaper than feathers. Viper does have an important point. You may need to retune as vanes are not as forgiving as feathers.

I have used them with my recurves, but not very often. They do add weight versus feathers so if you are borderline on spine, that can require some adjustment. You should tune your arrows anyway when making that drastic a change...feathers to vanes, and then you will see what is required. Normall, it will require a different nock to vane orientation, but if your spine is good, you should be able to clear the rest area without a lot of to-do. There are a couple videos on youtube that shows hot to set them up for off the shelf. I use an elevated rests on all my recurves so it's less of an adjustment for me.
