Just wondering what kind of speed others are getting from their bear TD. Mine brand new to me is getting 165fps using a 458 grain arrow with b riser and #3 45# limbs @28" I'm pulling 29" so about 47 to 48#

That's about par.

Do you have the factory string on it 'cause they are usually terrible.

Blacky tested the Grayling Green Super Kodiak, which is nearly the same design. Here's the data on that. Pretty impressive in my opinion for a so-called factory bow.

I shoot D-97 strings on older limbs. Don't have a chromo, but plenty fast for me.

I had a "B" green stripe with original Grayling red tip #3 limbs that I used a FF Plus string on with a 460 grain GT 55/75. It drew 56lbs at my draw which is 30.5" and I was averaging 201 FPS.

I also had a set of Brandon Stahl limbs for it which were bamboo and I got an average of 200 fps at 53lbs.

Bear takedowns are nice, but they have never been the fastest bows. Years ago many around here were surprised to find out that the Bear Grayling Grizzlies were the fastest bows in the Bear hunting line.

New string from 60x I'd have to look at recipe to tell you the type. Nice though broke in right now.

There's always the shooter influence on chrono results. As an example, I REALLY have to concentrate when I shoot through a chrono. If not I end up creeping. or otherwise fouling up the release trying to see the dang numbers.

Either way, you can rest assured it's plenty fast enough.

When I was running the dynamic spined through stu miller's calculator: it said mibe would be going about 190 fps.

Now my TD is a B with #1 limbs pulling 65#. Shooting a 9 gpp arrow and using a B50 string. I ran the speed with it on a skinny FF string and those arrows were screaming at 230 fps. I forget if I reworked the weights to get the spibe right...

I'm happy with the 190, they've got some real pep to them. Heck I really enjoy 65# other than it popping my middle finger's glove stall and the fact that I just can't shoot as many arrows as I can with my 45#. I think I shoot better with the extra weight due to being a compound shooter before I converted.

A Mag #1 48lbs 500 grain arrow 189 fps at 28.5" draw.

I guess I could gain a little more speed if I shortened my brace hight. I have it set 1/4 over the max but that's where the arrows liked it.

That seems a bit slow. I bet you could tune for more. - lbg
