Got a new medium Howard hill glove today Wish the finger stalls were a hair tighter

I hate jamming my finger tips into my side after each shot to push my finger tips to the end of the stalls.

Rub some soft string wax over your fingers before putting the glove on. Not perfect but it helps a lot..

You can also soak the glove in water, then let it dry. It will shrink, then it will only stretch to the size of your fingers. You may have to repeat it in the future. The only sure, permanent fix is to re stitch them,

Get your wife's yellow dish washing glove and cut 3 fingers off and put them on your fingers before you put your shooting glove on. It will not only keep the glove from slipping but will keep sweat from getting the glove wet. Wet fingers on your glove will not shoot the same as dry ones.

Soak it and dry it, I've done this many times.

Just a stitch with a leather awl between 1st and second knuckle. They stretch over time.

There is a product they make for Bowlers called "Sure Grip" comes in a jar about the size of a half dollar and about 1" deep, will last for years, and fits easily in pocket . A little dab on each finger, and even a loose glove will not come off or twist. Bob

Indian River have you tried the American Leather Crossover Glove? You won't have that problem of it coming off or twisting.

I had the same problem with my old Bear glove. I placed moleskin in the stalls for an instant and long-lasting fix!

I put moleskin in the, Hill style Schultz glove from years ago, and it worked well, leather would be a better option.

Gloves are made of chrome tanned leather which is supposed to remain unaltered after being wetted, so I wouldn't bother myself with that, it will not do the glove much good either. The way you tell whether leather is chrome tanned or veg tanned, is whether it absorbs water. Veg tan will drink it in, and it will be easily stretched, or stamped when wet.

I like my glove to fit tight

Bet this works!

I also like Dave's idea. Although what I've done for years is right above the first knuckle is to go below the factory seam and put two stitches underneath it. I also find the middle finger stall tip to tight for my finger so I use a small screw handle and gently work it very up towards the tip and let set overnight. Been shooting a HH glove for years. They are one of the best out there!

Thanks for a great tip Dave. I cut three half inch strips from scrap seal pelt and glued them in as you did and it works like a charm. Sandy

I am having the same problem with my HH fingerstalls. Just got them a week ago.

Its very hot and sweaty here. They are now starting to slide around my fingers after every shot.

Where do you get moleskin?? On the stitching.. do you sew in a complete line of stitches or just 2 wraps ?

Sure Grip also looks as if it might work. Looking into this!

Steve Turay of Northern Mist, builds his own but builds them smaller then pulls the stalls (wet) over a dowel to make it the size he wants.

I wear a medium, so thinking of buying a small and stretching it over a dowel?
