Need to cut some GT Traditional Carbon shafts. Seen a video where the guy heated & pulled his tip insert before each cutting for arrow tuning. Seems easier to just pull the plastic nock & cut... Is there a difference?

Not to me. I epoxy my inserts in first. Cut from nock end when tuning. I remove the advertising with acetone anyway. I do use my spine tester to find the hi side. Maybe over kill but I do it anyway.

It's going to be a lot easier to pull the nock and cut. They are parallel shafts. I shot 3D with a guy who had a very short draw length, and he had cut so much of the nock end off that his fletch was almost on top of the factory crest. MP

A parallel shaft. If you're bare shafting, no problem with shortening from the nock end.

""Just wrap some Saran Wrap around the inserts until you find the length you need. ""
Brilliant!!! Never heard that one before. Thanks!

The tech weenies say to cut equal amounts off each end, since most of the variance from being perfectly straight is in the end of the shaft!

Do carbon shafts have issues related to spine irregularity when revolving the shaft...like wood?
Do different brands have different failings (I assumed they were perfect)?
I this a problem just (if at all) for Gold Tips?
