That's a dandy for sure. Here' a biggun out on the Olympic Peninsula. Tim, peeking out from the roots, is 6'1" tall.

WOW, George. Makes a big guy feel small. JF

Big timber like that just amazes me. It's almost like it's other worldly.

The Delta was heavily timbered until pretty recently. I suppose good soil will grow big trees just as well as it will cotton/beans/corn.

Cypress is one of my favorite trees and that's a big one. Pip

Not a cypress but it is the largest cottonwood in MN.

That is a remarkable cypress. I'm weird about trees. Whenever I see one that stands out for one reason or another, size, age, etc... I just stand there and look at it and maybe talk to it? And just wonder what that tree has lived through. I was hunting with Robert Carter a few months back and we walked by a tremendous live oak tree, certainly over a hundred years old, and I had to fight the urge to go over and touch it and stare at it---- I didn't want him to think I was crazy, but I bet we feel the same way about those old trees.

Sawtooth, I do the same thing, not weird (unless we both are). I have actually wrapped my arms around them to see how big they actually feel. Treople...

Ain't nothing crazy about it. Hard to describe, but sometimes it's almost like touching God.

If they could only speak..

DON'T GIVE exact co-ordinates for the BIG TREES! Iffen You do, then some vandal will go and poison it or cut it down! There is a BRISTLE-CONE pine that people figure is at least 4000 years old. The location is a secret to prevent idiots from damaging it! Just a thought! Batman

Nice.

EF Hutton that would be a long way to the first branch on that one. Bet there would be a comfortable fork up that tree to sit on though, but you would have to have a long piece of rope to haul up your bow.

We killed a fine buck right behind that tree this past season.

I put my buddy on him.

I hunt in the Delta and I can tell you that shooting a squirrel out of one of those trees is a trick.
