From: Elkpacker1

From what I understand Brandon has embarked on a new business venture. As a result he's filling the custom orders he had up to around mid spring when he stopped taking any new orders. He's posted that he will no longer be building bows or after market Bear limbs in the future with the exception of an occasional bow that might pop up on his website as a stock bow.

Brandon is not taking orders. Check out his Trad Archers. Com website. He is venturing out into another business. His bow making will be limited to "in stock " only. This makes two Brandon making bows and Rich Lopez not taking in anymore work until further notice. Both craftsman will be missed.

I wish Brandon the best in his new endeavors but the stickbow community is loosing a very good bowyer.

Its nice to know we'll be missed. LOL Thank you. My wife and I have recently been tasked with caring for my 82 year old special needs father. Diabetic, blind in one eye, unable to walk hardly. He now lives with us so with his care, my full time job, home duties and family duites... something has to give. I am going to complete what I have in shop now and see how life pans out with this new workload. Its God's great plan for me I guess.

See ya'll around, Rich

I had Rich restore a bow for me and he did a fantastic job....well worth the wait.

I kept putting off an order from Brandon and now I'm out of luck.

Best of luck to both, they are great guys to have in the archery community.

I managed to get very lucky with getting the first custom 63 inch Ace, serial #3...Brandon built the first 2 so that he could make weight on mine...I would sell that bow if you really wanted one and did not order in time...I paid about 750 dollars for it and would let it go for say, 1500

YUP I BEEN BLESSED ALSO WITH SOME OF BRANDONS CRAFTSMANSHIP. TG

From: DanaC

Best of luck to both bowyers.

Rich, a bit of 'shop time' now and then might provide a welcome break from your other work. Not on a 'production' basis, just to clear your thoughts and focus. I'm sure you're in the thoughts and prayers of many here.

Rich refinished an original 21st Century longbow for me that was given to my son for becoming an Eagle Scout. He does above top notch work.

I'm lucky to have 2 sets of Brandon's #2 Bear limbs and they ain't going anywhere.

I wish both of them the best.

QBrandon, sent me a great email. He is taking time for himself and I wish him the best. Thanks to everyone. He sure did build some great bows.

For anyone interested -

Brandon just revived his website, and posted 2 60" "Classic" bows. These are basically the same as his old Ocelot model, but with the new name.

Looks like I still have the only LH Ocelot made. {8^)

Just looked at them and really sharp looking. If I didn't have so many bows still I'd jump on the 47" I like it. Make no mistake this is another Bowyer that make fantastic customs. I have several and glad I do. Good price too.

Told my brother to jump on it

Brandon does beautiful work. He is a true craftsman, so anyone with one of his bows has a gem.

There is not a more noble task than caring for our aging parents.

Prayers to your family, Rich.

Brandon is still not making bows..i check his site everyday..hoping....LOL

My "pop" suffered a a few mini strokes in August and his diabetic wounds took a turn..he lost his leg two weeks ago..his only good leg..we have him rehabbing in a home nearby and that road alone is a whole new set of challenges both emotionally and financially. Ironically...I broke my foot (the one I drive with)..last Saturday while walking the dog in flip flops on uneven ground...ugggh. now in a hard cast up to my knee...2016 can ***%& my azz.

good news is my cast comes off just in time for the rut.

From: RymanCat
Date: 27-Sep-16

Sorry to hear this Rich. Lord willing you'll get in on the rut.All things work together for good for those who love the Lord. That 47 was sweet to many bows way over bowed with to many not weight.LOL

From: Elkpacker1
Date: 28-Sep-16

wonder if my brother did as I told him he should. He was out West visiting me and loved my RO heritage. When he got home he complained his 47# recurve was as stout as my 60# Heritage.

From: nineworlds9
Date: 28-Sep-16

I did an extensive review of the new Heritage 3pc Brandon was building. I had an order in for one for myself but ended up having to cancel due to other financial priorities at the time.

Fast forward to a time a while later when I had some more money to play with and I started hearing the news that Brandon might hang up his hat. I found out he wasn't taking any new orders and hung my head in disappointment

One day earlier this year I went on Stickbow classifieds and happened to see a MINT lefty version of his new 63" Ace. #16 of 18. I sent multiple PM's to the seller basically praying he still had it and lo and behold he did. It is a beyond gorgeous bow with one of the nicest pieces of Mac ebony I've ever seen for the riser, and marblewood limbs that have to be seen to be believed. It is my no.1 and like Camodave I might sell it at twice what I paid, but on second thought NOPE, it'll be with me until I'm done. I'd sell every other bow I have first LOL.

From: Florida lime
Date: 28-Sep-16

I was the first person to get to try that LH Heritage when Brandon sent it out, and Chuck was the second.

I now have 2 Heritage TDs, and they are both sublime. I hope that Brandon continues to have time to make an occasional bow, just so others can experience them.

Heres Pie with bow. Didn't want to turkey hunt it because of red glass could get blasted if anyone saw red flashing.LOL

This bow shoots as well as it is purty 2 sets of limbs Brandon done for me for this bow.

From: RymanCat
Date: 28-Sep-16

I also have a delight that's unreal. And a Bob cat I had skinned. that's 58" 43 weight and Oh my what a shooter to. On my Green stripe now I have a set of his limbs that are Birdseye stained dark grey they are also to die for those limb. I had several other sets of limbs he did but only back down to one set now that I put on Green stripe if I hunt with that bow. I probably will yet this fall.

I would say that any Rose Oaks is among the top if not the top customs.

I had a 50's type once I think Brandon's uncle or maybe grand pop built now that bow was sweet. I had a skinny string on it to. I didn't put a skinny string on the Heritage yet though but will eventually. Kinda forgot to do that yet.

I guess ya know I love his bows. I asked before if he could make me an Ace in 56 inch but no forms I think for the 56 I was told. That would have been a slick blind bow I thought.
