Ron La Clair's Lil Favorite and you'll never look back! But I'm sure the Helms Deep is a good bow as well. Never tried one. I own 2 of Ron's Lil Favorite they perform as advertised!

Does Ron travel that far as a vendor anymore? Which bowyer is making the Lil Favorite II for him? Merlin or Belcher?

Good info Ron! I thought at your "advanced" age, maybe you wouldn't get out as much. I saw mention of Merlin on the KaZoo Expo earlier this year, and Belcher just recently. Didn't know what models they were making for you. Is the Stealth II a recurve also? Don't know much about Merlin, but I'm a big fan of what Belcher does.

Sorry I missed the last question.
Jim Belcher has designed new limbs for both the Shrew recurves and longbows. He is gluing up the bows at this time and Merlin is helping in the finishing process.
Merlin is a finish carpenter by trade and he has been working with Jim for awhile now. He has a very keen eye for detail and I'm very pleased with his work.
I can't say too much about Jim's talent as a bow maker. If there is a "Master" bowyer title Jim surly has earned that distinction. I consider myself lucky to have him involved in the making of the Shrew bows.
