Hi Mark,

First, Prayers for your Wife. Hope all gets better for you.

I have had several Toelke bows and they are first class in all regards. Fit and Finish are second to none. Performance is top notch as well. I am sure you will get many replies and I bet all will echo exactly what I have said.

Best of Luck!

Steve

I've owned a dozen or more. All were very nice. I currently have a Super D.

From: Cocklebur
Date: 27-Jun-16

I only have a Pika but X2 on what meatCKR said.

From: Big Dog
Date: 27-Jun-16

Plus, he sends the bow with a very top-notch string which doesn't hurt anything in the performance category. Always wonder why other bowyers don't do the same. When your selling a high priced custom bow I can't for the life of me understand why you would knock it down a notch or two with string that's not quite up to snuff. Just not good marketing practice. Regards

It appears more and more archers outside the NW are discovering these first class bows.

What can be better than having a great bow in looks and performance being made by first class people.

BTW, on the hunt now for a TD Pika and just about ready to place an order.

Sir may God move in your life,in your home and bless your wife and restore her to good health. I command the blessing of the Lord in her life. Proverbs The blessing of the lord maketh rich and he added no sorrow with. He is the God that heals us.

I have a whip and it is a very nice bow; very smooth..

I have not owned one but have shot the whip and super D and was impressed by both. The super D might be the quietest bow I Have ever shot.

Very sorry to hear about your wife my heart and prayers go out to you. I lost my beautiful wife of 36 yr in april. Don't a Toelke but bought a Holm made bow at cloverdale shoot and think it is an outstanding bow and very reasonably priced check out his web site.

I have owned 3 toelke longbows and they are fantastic, you can find other just as good, but none better!

Prayer sent for your wife. I've owned 1 Super Static 2 Whips 2 Chinooks and 2 Pikas. I have a classic Chinook on order and should be here in a week or so. Yeah, they are that good!!

From: 9 Shocks

Have owned 2 whips. VERY QUIET BOWS! and a pleasure to shoot!

Still kicking myself for trading my 64"er in a moment of weakness.

From: Keoneloa
Date: 27-Jun-16

I have one of his Chinook recurves, 58"...bought it from his inventory. Super quiet, fast and hard hitting, beautiful workmanship. Plus it came with 2 strings with silencers, a soft case and a bow stringer. Makes all my other bows sound like old twanging guitars! Dan is great to work with, too. I wasn't quite happy with the feel of the grip, seemed too narrow for my hand, and he had me send it back and he put a great leather wrap on it for only the cost of shipping, now it's my go to bow. 45 lb RH that measures 44.6 lb on the scale at 28" Light, fast, ultra quiet---you can't go wrong. My next toelke will be a custom order rather than one of the inventory stock, though he has a sweet looking 64" Super Static TD with woods that matche my one piece recurve on the inventory page now...prayers out for your wife...

I have never had a Toelke bow but would not hesitate to buy one...I talked to Dan a few years ago and he told me he would be happy to sell me an unfinished bow...that knocks a bunch off the price and the finish can be whatever you are willing to put the effort into...it would truly be a custom bow

I've owned a large number of bows over 30 years and most have been customs. Earlier in the year I parted with everything except a 44# Northern Mist Superior and my 40# Toelke Kestrel that I bought out of his inventory.

I simply haven't found a better recurve than the Kestrel and although a recent thread on this site debated the merits/demerits of shorter bows, I have found my Kestrel to be as nice to shoot and as accurate as any that I've owned over the years. It has lots of pluses and absolutely no issues, for me.

It's perfect for hunting from a stand or from the ground and I've killed several nice does at 25 yards or less with it. Wish I had the money for one of his Chinooks in the low to mid 40s.....or what the hell....I'll take another Kestrel.

Mark, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your wife. I just bought a 66" Whip a few weeks ago and I have to say it's the sweetest bow I have ever shot. You can't go wrong with a Toelke. I'm already looking at the Super Static.

I have three and live in Dallas. Will probably by another before the end of the year. Love them all and have taken game with all of them. Can't say enough about these bows. If you ever get up this way, let's shoot.

Prayers for quick mend for your wife. I got a 58" Chinook from Dan in 2014. As stated above fit and finish second to none, also a good christian family. I have several Assenheimers which are also top of the line but I think Dan's bows are number one.Just wish I could shoot it as I am on the mend from a triple bypass. About 2 more months and I should be back in business.

From: Dan

Mark prayers with you and your wife. Dan is one of the finest man I have ever dealt with. Shared camp with him in Ohio several years ago and that's how I learned about his bows. Incredible bows, a wonderful guy and a heck of a shot. You will not be disappointed!

5 star fit and finish. Draw weight within 8 Oz's of requested if not dead on. Quiet, Quiet, Quiet! Dan and Jared set the standard as far as I'm concerned. I've owned over a dozen Toelke bows and have a 68" Super D on order. Currently shoot 66" Super Ds. The 68" should be here soon. Great product that they stand behind and great family! They are very technical about their craft, it isn't a hobby, it's full time.

I've owned a bunch of Toelke bows and still have 3. Just put an order in with Dan today for another one. About the best there is as far as I'm concerned.

Prayers for you both! I hope she is on the mend soon. I have a Pika, Chinook and Lynx with both limbs. Dan is top notch and his products are great. Beautiful woods and his finished bows are show pieces. He is also the fastest at getting a bow built. Anything you try will be great.

I have had 16 made for me and still own a number of them. You could say I am a fan. A Toelke bow will be superbly crafted from beautiful woods and as well-mannered as bows get, notice the reference in previous posts about quietness there is a reason. Down to the supplied strings it doesn't get any better. I've never waited a full month on any of the bows made for me and as others have attested to, you will never deal with better people than Dan and Jerod.

From: Flinger1
Date: 28-Jun-16

Great post jimwright! Couldn't have said it better myself. Took less than a month for my Pika, which is a beauty, and I could not be happier. This little bow amazes me every time I shoot it. Quiet is quiet!!!! Fast as all get out also! My 1 and only time for a custom made for me and I did good choosing the Toelke's!

Whenever I read a string of posts like these I want to order another Toelke. I have or had several Classic Whips, a Super D and a couple of Chinooks. The bows just seem to fit me. I have not tried a Lynx or SS but plan to at some future date. I don't know what it is about Montana that produces so many great bowyers.

From: Pete P
Date: 28-Jun-16

one of the very best out there. lets face it, theres hundreds of bowyers. nobody has a secret stash of materials. they are all getting supplies...glass, wood, glue ect from similar or the same suppliers. nobody has a superior product from the base. so what sets these guys apart?? call Dan right now, tell him what you want, order something truely custom to your specs and guess what?? youll have that creation in your hands in probably 3 weeks. 3 frikken weeks! not 1 yr. not 2 yrs. 3 weeks for the most incredible arrow slinging piece of functional art youve seen. the fit and finish is not among the best, it is the best. these guys are always refining, perfecting, designing...taking research and development to where lots of others dont. i mean look at the super D. i had one, it shot incredible, no need to make any changes to it in my opinion. yet, these guys totally tweaked that design to make it even better. how many bowyers have so many different designs available?? i mean really, you got the pika, whip, chinook, lynx, super D, super static, the troll, kestral, ect. do these guys sleep?? incredible bows. crap, i think i just convinced myself to buy another one...

There is a echo in this thread.......

For 16+ years I have never heard so much positive feedback on a bowyer than Toelke Archery. Seriously, the customer satisfaction on Dan and Jarod's bows are simply astonishing. The craftsmanship, shootability, performance and turn-around time is fantastic.

I have a 64" Whip 2pc. I love it.

From: Flinger1

Here's the kind of man Dan Toelke is.....I posted a thread on another forum asking which "book" was the very best for aspiring bowyers. I had a pm the following morning from Montana bows that said "call me", 409,,,,,,Dan. I called that evening, we talked about board bows, selfbows, his Pika, ect...he then told me someone had dropped off the TBB vol. 1-3 and he would send them to me. Obviously I thanked him and offered to at least pay shipping, but he declined. He told me just to have fun with it and I have been! Got the books 3 days layer and they're hardbound. How many men, let alone master craftsman bowyer's do this for complete strangers?? He's a great man, with a wonderful family, who has a great business with an incredible product. That's the way it's supposed too be. I'll order a Whip to match my Pika before too long ;)

From: VanhetHof
Date: 28-Jun-16

Well, I have to add another story. I had two longbows but wanted another of lesser poundage to grow into as I age. (Okay, maybe I just wanted another one.) My mind was set on a Northern Mist reverse handle model until I saw a 64" left-handed Whip with accessories on eBay. I took a chance and bought it. All I can say is wow! It zips arrows and is stealthy quiet. The string, the workmanship and the handle design along with it's amazingly slim profile make it a joy to handle. What a bow. If the opportunity comes along, buy one. SVH

Mark, First, prayers sent for your wife and you. Second, I have two Whips and I can honestly say that they are as quiet as my selfbows. I have a 62" that thinks it's a War bow....it slings a heavy arrow like it's nothing. The fit and finish is absolutely flawless. I will never get rid of either bow. You cannot go wrong with a Toelke.

From: Dantheman

I hear you Kent. I just pulled the trigger on that sweet take down SS on his site. It's my belated 50'th B-Day gift to myself! Cant wait to get my hands on it. Talked to Dan and email corresponded with Jared. Everything everyone has said in the thread is true. Dan spent plenty of time with me answering my dumb questions and provided some valuable insight on arrow selection and form. Those guys are awesome. I am a customer for life.

I have had nothing but positives to say about the Toelke Team, fantastic personal service, quick turn a round time, fantastic shooting bows. The finest out there. Fit finish, second to none.

unbelievable build time, when other bowyers with even less orders, are 1-2 years out.

Im a customer for life also.

From: Biathlonman

I'm sure Dan just shakes his head when my number pops up on his caller Id. I've owned at least 20 and have made more then a few request bordering on unreasonable and he's never flinched before accommodating. Called and talked on Monday and he's putting together a Pika for me that I expect to be spectacular.

From: azhunter
Date: 29-Jun-16

First, prayers for your wife's health. I bought a bow from Dan. Shot it for a day or two and wow was I impressed. Smooth, quiet, no hand shock, flawless. Dumb me I put a quiver on it that I didn't realize the rubber strap had been pulled out and that is what protected the grommet from rubbing the bow, and the way I put it on the grommet rubbed the bow. I was sick. It only effected the outside of the finish. I called Dan and said I want to send it back to refinish that spot how much do I need to pay. He said pay me $25 for the shipping and after he had it for about a couple days I got an email saying here is your tracking number your bow was shipped. Now that is what I call customer service. I think they are a great example of how a to run any kind of business. Fantastic products with customer service to match.

From: Matt Parker
Date: 30-Jun-16

I have never heard any negative about a Toelke bow. I have heard so many positives that it made me order a new Lynx with longbow limbs. Can't wait to try it out, I ordered it about 2 weeks ago.

From: Burnsie
Date: 30-Jun-16

The only negative I can find, which is really a positive, is that they build them too darn fast. My usual MO for buying a new custom bow is too give the builder their required deposit, then I use the 8 -15 months+ to make payments, and send them the last payment just before it is finished. But with Dan and Jared spitting bows out at warp speed I need to get my finances worked out, right from the get go. The nice thing is that, quality is not sacrificed for speed of delivery - they are top quality bows.

From: jimwright
Date: 30-Jun-16

If you ever get to Ronan, MT. and it is a beautiful area to vacation, visit the Toelke shop. You will find it clean, properly equipped and very well organized. Inside are two guys who work hard, put every model through an exhaustive r&d stage before introduction and are very, very good at their craft. As I said in an earlier reply, it doesn't get any better.

From: fewfeathers

I think the more Super Statics that get out there, the more there'll be a cult following. It's a great bow for areal and moving targets. I have two. They are both the easiest bows to forget what is in my hand when I shoot. The draw curve is such that variations in draw (such as with moving targets) there is little variation in trajectory. All the above superlatives of fit and finish are well deserved. Call Dan (I've never had the pleasure of talking to Jared.) He's a master bowyer and a master at advising length and style to fit your needs. You'll find the same familiarity when you shoot his bow as you did when you talked to the man who never met a stranger.

From: tso115

I can't say anything that hasn't already been said here! I've owned several of Dan's bows, and have found that the Super D is my favorite. Planning on getting a 60" Chinook soon! These bows are simply unbeatable.
