I am seeking information regarding Samick's Rival recurve bow. I can't find anything on the web. What is it's composition, it's finish, the wood used in the bow? Is the Rival a limited production bow? All comments will be appreciated.

GRAMPUS? Is this SAMICK bow a NEW DEAL? If so, then LANCASTER ARCHERY should have something on it since SAMICK was gonna discontinue some of the older stuff. GOOD LUCK ON YOUR SEARCH! Batman

The limbs appear to be bamboo which has been divided into very fine sections and reassembled with resin under pressure. The middle limb lamination is red and may be glass fiber. The riser is a composite of layers of resin infused wood.

The riser is large and fills the hand. The bow is heavy and very solid. The bow appears to be cut to center or past center in the sight window.

The limbs show a slight green color. The riser has a black section with red and white stripes and a section which resembles the construction of the limbs. The bow has over lays at the riser, red and black, with overlays on the tips, black and light brown.

The length is 56 inches.

The limb veneer is maple, not bamboo, which has been cut into very fine sections and glued back together under pressure.

The Rival is a Samick Equus:

Hard Maple Veneer and Lightback Red, Black, and clear fiberglass Rosewood

56 inches long, string length 52 inches, brace height 7 3/16 to 8 1/16

Equus = Horse

The Equus may be influenced by Black Widow, it may be a copy.
