Well I was hoping to get a big old axis buck but this doe gave me a 18 yard hard quartering shot and I wanted something to eat besides pig! She made it about 80 yards. My boys each got a rabbit with the trusty single shot 22.

Thanks buds. It's been a few years since I've eaten axis but they are delicious. For those interested bow and arrow stats: morrison 21" ilf with med 50# tradtech carbon extremes. 400 spine full length vap,50 grain inserts, 100 grain 3 blade montec broadhead. Arrow weight 405 grains, the extremes run a little heavy, just a few pounds. Arrow entered behind the last rib, busted a rib and stuck in the offside shoulder. Very little in the way of a blood trail but herd her crash very quickly.

Axis is hands down the best venison I have ever eaten! Congrats on your dinner!
