This is the best 3D shoot I've ever attended and I've shot a LOT of them. 500+ traditional bowhunters shooting all Rinehart targets on 6 ranges in prime elk habitat. 2 years ago I awoke to see a herd of 9 elk 100 yards from my tent. It doesn't get any better.

I registered for 1st time, but need some directions to the shoot. I believe it's north of New Castle, but that's all I know. Any tips on how to get there would be appreciated. Thanks, newt

There is a map on the website and there will be some signs. Also, it is cheaper to preregister.

Guys, if you are not registered by May 30th. I think you are out of luck. Pre registration is required. At the Safari in OR they turned away people from North Dakota and the Portand OR area. I would call and make sure that you can still register before you made the trip. Just a heads up

I've not been to this shoot for a long time, and I know it has changed and grown since then. How does it work? Ad says it starts on Thursday. Does that mean morning, afternoon, or a few people show up then but most later? How early do I need to get there to get a decent tent site within walking distance of the festivities? Is it full of RVs with generators going all night (like most group camping now days) or are there places of relative peace? Any details appreciated.

Ranges officially open on Friday. Usually, those that help with set up Thursday morning are allowed to shoot Thursday evening. Plenty of camping of all sorts. If you want to be within easy walking distance of main area you will be camped next to others. We have only had a couple complaints of noisy campers over the last several years. No dogs allowed on ranges or vendor/kitchen area. Ranges never seem to get backed up, slow groups let others shoot through.

I was up helping set the courses the last couple of days. Bring sunscreen, bug spray (they weren't too bad) and lots of arrows.
