Got my new Hex 7.5 limbs in, 51lbs. They make 66" AMO on my 19" riser. They are lightening fast and the bow has an amazing let off sensation at full draw. It's getting hard to choose which bow to shoot these days. My 52lb Double carbon limb Schafer is 64" AMO, it is dead in the hand, whisper quiet and butter smooth to draw. Then there is the 53lb Tall Tines. At 62" AMO, it is very forgiving and blistering fast. It's too dark to shoot any more tonight but tomorrow will see another nice shooting session with one of these treasures.

The double carbon is an option when ordering your Schafer but it was not on the order form, I heard about it and called Beth and did the upgrade. Glad I did! It is faster than my previous Schafer for sure, although my previous Schafer was not FF bow. The Tall Tines is not a carbon limb but it is no slouch. These 3 bows are amazing to shoot, I'd take any of them to hunt.

I like Tall Tines and Schafer bows a lot, own one of each. I've only shot one Border, and I was really impressed with it. I think either way you go, you can't go wrong.

moose, you got some high end recurves right there. i guess i am hearing there is not much difference in performance between the three? the border is lightening fast; the TT is blistering fast; the silver tip is double carbon.
in those three bows; my opinion is you got three way different grip types/style.....would you agree?

I love my Schafer's but I've owned a few Tall Tines also and shot them great! I've owned one Border and it was a 1pc with Hex 6 limbs, it was a flat shooting bow. If I were to every order a new Schafer I'd have to look at the double carbon option, I have another Schafer on it's way right now! That will make 2 riser's and 4 set's of limbs for me, love them!!

The double carbon option is $250 on the Schafer. I assume the carbon runs the full length of the limb but that is just my guess. As far as performance goes, only going by sight and the difference in flat trajectory out to 44 yards, here is the skinny. At my draw, tall Tines is 62" AMO and 58lbs and shooting a 550gr arrow, it is fastest but it has the shortest limb length and is heaviest draw weight. Next is Border 66" AMO , at my draw, 51.6lbs shooting a 550gr arrow, it is a close second ( NOTE : Border is 6.4lbs lighter at my draw weight and is launching a 10+ gr/lb arrow so I expect it might be a tad slower, but it is not slower by much) Running a close 3ed is the 64" Schafer, 56lb at my draw, & shooting a 530gr arrow. The Schafer is the heaviest to hold with lots of riser weight. It is so smooth to draw, I love shooting it, even though it lacks the same flat shooting trajectory compared to the other two. The 3 grips, although all slightly different, they are all large palm swells and fit my hand like a glove. The final Test would be a chronograph session with the same draw weight to arrow weight ratio, comparison. Right now I would have a hard time deciding which bow to take this fall out to hunt with.

That's quite the problem deciding which one to shoot. Sympathy from Kansas(Insert Sarcasm). Those are 3 real beauties.
My question would be which one is the quietest? Just curious I have Morrison limbs and was impressed with how quiet they are.

I have newer Hoyt carbon/foam limbs on my Morrison. They shoot great and bear a similarity to the limbs on your Schafer.

They are all quiet, but perhaps the Border wins since it is the lightest weight and yet is shooting the heavy arrow. I did some bare shafting tonight, I will be shooting the 495 grain arrows from the Border next session. That may affect the first place quiet position currently the Border enjoys...
