I've been trying to shoot 3 under for about 2-1/2 years now. Close range accuracy has been good, except for a intermittent tendency to shoot left for no apparent reason. What's driving me crazy is that I can't seem to bare shaft tune anymore (still works for split finger shooting). If I get decent arrow flight with feathers, the bare shaft dives nose down severely. The bare shaft is almost always nock high (usually severely). If I do (briefly) get the bare shaft flying well, the fletched shaft flies poorly and is clearly nock low. It's pretty obvious that the problem is my release, but shouldn't that problem be the same with fletched or unfletched arrows? Any ideas on what's wrong, for either the left shooting of bare shafting probems?

If your shooting right handed, I suspect the arrows going left are caused by not coming to full draw and you arrows are on the verge of being too stiff. Have someone watch how much arrow your drawing. As far as nock high/low that's usually nock point location, Are you using two nocking points?, you should be with 3 under, Bob

Usually when I shot right, I have "plucked" the string, but I am a lefty. So shooting left for you maybe from the same result. I switch to 3 under on my compound before returning to a recurve and just went with it. I can tune my bow to bare shafts well at 20 yards. It all has to do with nocking point, arrow spine and point weight.

I know how to bare shaft tune (I think). I have been doing it and relying on it for 30 years, and it still works well when I shoot split fingered. This is something happening only when I shoot 3 under. I recently started using two nock points, and it seems to make no difference.

Likewise the shooting left problem is only with three under, and only sometimes. No problem when shooting split fingered -same bows, same arrows, etc.

The obvious solution is to go back to split, but it bothers me to not understand what's going on.

Error Occurred While Processing Request

Could not find the included template /templates/BTV/playvideolitestreamingwindow.cfm.

Note: If you wish to use an absolute template path (for example, template="/mypath/index.cfm") with CFINCLUDE, you must create a mapping for the path using the ColdFusion Administrator. Or, you can use per-application settings to specify mappings specific to this application by specifying a mappings struct to THIS.mappings in Application.cfc.
Using relative paths (for example, template="index.cfm" or template="../index.cfm") does not require the creation of any special mappings. It is therefore recommended that you use relative paths with CFINCLUDE whenever possible.

Resources:
  • Enable Robust Exception Information to provide greater detail about the source of errors. In the Administrator, click Debugging & Logging > Debug Output Settings, and select the Robust Exception Information option.
  • Check the ColdFusion documentation to verify that you are using the correct syntax.
  • Search the Knowledge Base to find a solution to your problem.
