Jay said my Pacific Yew Longbow should ship this Thur. Looking forward to it arriving!!! He's bows have a gloss finish on em and I asked him if he could put a satin finish on mine. He said he'd be happy to. Told me today that the finish looked great on it. Folks, there is not a nicer person that I've done business with!!! He gets an A+ rating in my book! I'll post pics as soon as she arrives.

I also had a great transaction with Jay. There is just something about the feel of his longbows that I really like. His pacific yew classic will always grace one of the top slots on my keeper bow rack.

Thanks for the responses guys! That recurve sure is a nice looking bow! I'm gonna try and get some sleep in the next few days but it'll be tough. Haha

I ordered a 66" Thunderbird recurve from Jay just a couple of weeks ago and he said it could be ready to ship by the end of May. Can hardly wait! :}

Hey Rusty, I was just on Jay's site and that is a "petty" bow he makes. That yew under clear glass with the bison grip looks really nice. Try to get a little sleep, and hope the mail truck doesn't get stuck in any traffic jams on the way!

I'm trying! I got a feeling that the night before it gets here, they'll be no sleep. Haha

My wife and I stopped at Jay's place back in 1999 and enjoyed a short visit. I also was privileged to spend time with Glenn and Margaret on two different occasions. Awesome family. I bought a Duryea model from Jay a goodly number of years ago and really like it. It outgrew me however and I eventually passed it along.

Kore Duryea was the namesake of that bow, and he was a prolific bowyer in the 40's and 50's and almost singlehandedly won and rewon a bow season for Washington back in the day. More folks should know about folks like Kore.

That's pretty cool that you got to spend time with them. I agree, we do need to know about more folks like that.
