Here is a Great Video of not only field dressing but he takes a unique approach and splits the hog in two and shows us the anatomy of the hog and how things work and why.
Hope you enjoy,
Damn Pigz....

I love to hunt pigs. I drive from Virginia to Texas to hunt them once or twice a year. I took this nice black one in Texas last April, using my 52# longbow.

you got that right! I busted this big old sow just the other night. My paw in law lives in Wellsboro, PA- you know of it? Anyway, he comes down about twice a year to hunt hogs with me. He always gets a big kick out of it- He's not a huge fan of cottonmouths, however.

Sawtooth,
Yes I know where Wellsboro is. Wellsboro is north central Pennsylvania, I'm in southwestern Pennsylvania near east of Pittsburgh.
I lived in Alabama for four years so snakes aren't my favorite thing. "lol"
There is only three poisonous snakes in Pennsylvania. The timber rattle snake, the massasauga rattle snake, and the copperhead. The rattle snakes usually let you know their there, copperheads don't. Like your father-in-law I'm not a big fan of snakes either.

Dendy, we have only been into 2016 for just over a month. Didn't give them hogs much time to relax? :-)

I agree with Jack, the first picture is all wrong on the location of the lungs. The second pic is much more accurate. I have shot a lot of hogs as has Jack, and you need to shoot them straight up the front leg and not too high. One of my issues with most 3D targets is that they have the kill zone too far back on the boar targets.

Well, I know David has killed alot of hogs, but I don't entirely agree with the shot placement sentiment. Hogs move so much that you will get way or quartering away shots than perfectly broadside, which gives alot more wiggle room. I aim up the backside of the leg and just a tad higher on broadside shots. More room for error and still a killing shot.

Excellent video, and it is very good to look at the actual anatomy of a game animal. I was a professional butcher and then became a biology teacher. As such, I have a pretty good idea of the anatomy and function of animal innards. It is very good for all of us to see inside a real animal in a relaxed position. Most pictures and many 3-D targets are marked wrong, and so many of us have errant ideas concerning where to shoot an animal. Good educational video; thanks for the link.

If you don't shoot them REAL tight to the leg you are going to lose them . I like to shoot right above the knuckle on the leg bone , or as pdk25 shoot them quartering away ! I have shot about 25-30 hogs over the last 12-15 years .
