Got the riser cleaned off but still have some sanding to do on it. May let the limbs as is since the silk screen is on top of the camo. Looks good so far but still needs work.

Looks good George. You can always sand the limbs but leave just where the logos are alone.

One good thing about painted bows:

They're in factory condition underneath. Talk about time capsules.

What beautiful grain. That is a nice find and good decision to uncover that beauty.

Coming along nice George,,might be the picture but the shelf looks cut a little lower than most '66's I've seen.

That's going to be a beauty, George. I always thought those were beautiful bows and such good shooters.

I have a Kodiak Hunter that is factory camo'd and I am thinking I might uncover it.

George, those 'horns' look like zebrawood from the pics. Any chance?

George....there are most likely ALSO silkscreens UNDER the camo paint! Every factory camo Bear I have "decamode" had factory specs AND factory silkscreens under the camo job. The were basically finished bows that were pulled out of the line and camo painted when a customer ordered it.

I too prefer having it with the wood grain showing. That's a good looking bow. I like it!

I'm setting up a 70's SK that belongs to a friend. New string nock, elevated flipper rest,(his choice) that has been painted brown by the previous owner long ago. Parts of the riser can be seen where some of the paint came off. Looks nice. I'll show this thread to him. He may want to do the same thing to his bow. I know I would!
