What is the weight difference between ilf limbs rated for a 25"riser and a 17" ? If limbs pull 30# on a 25"what will they pull on a 17" ?

Bascially add 1# per inch for the 17" riser is shorter then 25".But also you have on some risers the limb pad angle can affect the weight.Like on my earlier Morrison 17" metal riser it added 2# per inch,my 38# on a 25" limbs scaled 52# on my 17" riser.

ohma2, if the limb pad angles are the same for the 25" and 17" risers then it's +8#(1# per 1") for 38# on the 17" riser. And as strshotx alludes, different companies have veered from the 'standard' 25" Olympic riser's limb pad angle, so it does get confusing.

I think Bob Morrison builds all his risers nowadays to gain 7-8 pounds with 'standard' limbs. Earlier models, I'm not certain.

I'd contact the manufacturer to be certain before buying.

"standard" meaning ILF olympic rated on 25 inch risers, or trad tech and other samick limbs rated on 17"???

And does Bob change the pad angle for each shorter riser so the gain is the same for the 13 through the 19 inch risers?

Always seems like a guessing game, but some short of chart showing pad angles, bolt distance to various limbs would be great.

On his metal risers I do believe Bob changes the angle so the limbs are the same on all of the risers with HIS limbs. Don't know about other limbs.

ILF is a guessing game. Some risers are rated at the lowest preload, some the highest and some in the middle. The best we can do is estimate gain or loss when going up or down in riser length. I wouldn't bet my life on any of these formulas though.

I'm using the $80 SF Axioms on my ILF bows these days and for what I do they work just great.
