Shooting a 52 pound long bow at 28 pulling 28 on draw leight. My question is I'm shooting some 2018 I had laying around seem to be shooting good 125 up front with standard insert 29 inches long. Does this set up sound a little stiff? Bow is center cut.

Try shooting one bare shaft. You might be able to go weaker but those dont have the weight I like for hunting.I used 2018 in my longbow for that reason.

Try shooting one bare shaft AND ONE FLETCHED SHAFT. If you're right handed and the bare is left of the fletched it's stiff.

I'm right about that same length and weight, and I'd guess you're stiff, but a lot depends on how close to center your are.

Once you have the shafts impacting together it only takes a couple of twists of the bow string IF the bare shaft doesn't fly straight.

Bow is center cut foley 3 piece r/d. Best bow I've own just want to get arrows shooting clean. Have not bare shaft it yet only had a few weeks. Just braking it in. Waited a long time to get a bow this nice. Just looking for solid opinion that's why I posted here. Thanks for reply. ????

Don...keep in mind that we are giving guidance blind. We can't see the way your arrows are flying, or how you are shooting. Everything you're hearing is conjecture, based on personal experience. There's an individual influence on how arrows shoot and it varies from person to person.

aromakr sounds about right to me

Have you shot with a broad head. Leave your feathers on and try a BH. That will tell you right away.
