I got this old cougar the other day, 45# @ 28", 62". it was actually in very good shape, straight limbs, very little wear, just old. I rubbed it down with some #0000 steel wool and sprayed it with some Bull's eye, and made a string (Dacron, no tips overlays at all) Took it out stumping a bit today. I sure like shooting these old Ben Pearson recurves.

As you and I have discussed before....that's one of my favorites. That one looks extra nice.

So, when are you gonna' build 1 ?

I saved my lawn mowing money and in 8'th grade bought a brand new 40# Cougar. It was my first decent bow. I was quite proud of it. I moved on with other bows, but still fondly remember my Cougar.

When I find these I buy them, if they're broke I fix them. I'm going to start keeping them though

Here's my 37# Golden Knight I got for $100. Got the Diamondback skins from a guy I worked with. He hunts them and keeps them in his cellar. Randy

I've got a 42# 64" cougar in the classifieds. I bought it without a string and got a new string on it and ran several arrows as well as my son shooting it several times. I had also bought a couple other vintage bows for him to shoot and pick the one he liked to hunt with. He picked a shorter bow so I am selling the ones he elected not to keep. Its a nice bow with olive glass on the front and white glass on the back.
