Got this yew branch bending to 25" @ 50# . Still have to bring the brace up a bit more and get it out another inch or two. This is one of my trade bows on another site.

Looking good Bob. Love those yew selfbows. What's the length? I'm getting ready to try one myself. My staves are only 60-64" so I'm thinking AFB.

Nice. Looks like the middle third of each limb would benefit from a little more bend.

I still have another inch to go but will finesse it out over 26" draw. So I have some tweeking to do on the tiller. Jeff middle thirds you are talking like just out of the center of the limb towards the tips correct?

Thanks Jim. And the limb to the left is the bottom limb. But I am sure you can see that by how it's sitting in the holder.I will get some shooting done and make sure tiller stays put then it's finish time.

Dang, that's got to be frustrating to say the least. Hope you stayed out of harms way. I have a couple of pin holes on my yew AFB so I rawhided the back and so far so good after 10 years of bending it. Lance.

Bob, I have a few yew staves but no experience building with the wood as it's been hard for me to get until recently. Do you know if it works as well trying to make a bow with a flat belly vs. somewhat rounded belly?
