I have used griptape on pistols with great success. Would it be ok to use this on a bow handle or is it best to allow the handle to slip a little in yout hand. Capt Kirk

I think thats a personal preference type of thing. I know a guy who wraps his with tape like a baseball bat.

It works fine if you're talking about something similar to what is used on tennis rackets and so forth.

I use Tourna Grip on my target bows. It's a tennis racket wrap and works great, even in the rain. If you're talking about the kind of grip tape they put on skateboards, I'd take a pass. That would be brutal on your bow hand after a while.

I wrapped a Hoyt Buffalo grip in tennis racket tape mainly to build it up some. Worked great.

I tried tennis wrap on my Hoyt Excell riser. It worked OK but the ends kept coming up. I think it was to thick for my liking. I would think the risers ad something to do with it. It is a high wrist and does not take to being wrapped well.

Have shot with hockey tape on my handle. I like it but wife says looks like crap. Try it. Is is cheap and no residue if you want to take it off.

I have some stuff from 3M called Coban. Came home from one of my wife's hospital stays. It's not tacky, but sticks to its self as you make a wrap around. Have seen something like it at Walmart and Target in the area where the ace bandages are. Think they call it Sports Wrap?? Mine is a 4 inch wide roll.

Racquetball Tape. I love the stuff. For thin handled metal risers it is absolutely perfect. Puts my hand in the exact spot every time and has just enough cushion to make it worthwhile. for bigger handled wood risers, eh, not so much.

Sure...same stuff I use on my tennis racquets. I generally use it to build up a grip that's a little narrow for me. I had a Hoyt Game Master that I couldn't shoot without it.

I have been using it for about 5 years. Easy to put on easy to remove if it looses its tack. It does not harm the wood grip in any way.

Yeah, same as vet wrap available at feed stores for wrapping hooves and other parts on horses. Sticks to itself and easily removed without residue.

All my recurves and longbows have grip tape on them. Keeps my hand warmer in the cold weather and helps in the summer on those hot days.

Believe it or not, a strip of inner tube makes a pretty dang good grip wrap as well.

I am a fan of Hockey tape. Keeps the grip thin and very functional in hunting situations. Agree that it may not look the best but I'm not out in the woods to impress the deer.

Tried the tennis racket wrap on a former longbow from years past. Didn't like it just because the grip wasn't evenly smooth if you get what I'm saying. Just too lumpy.

I had new slippery gloves this year and my bow handle was slipping. so I wrapped electrical tape once around the handle, spun it around so the sticky side was out for 3 wraps and then spun the tape around to stick it on to the handle. Worked in a pinch for me and it cost nothing.

Can't beat a mountain bike inner tube. I installed them on three longbows and two 3 piece recurves . It's best to cut them a little long and trim them once in place. It's also better to install then inside out this way the mfg. ridges are on the inside. Try it you'll like it.
