I have bought a predator riser from one guy and a set of limbs from another guy and the only thing I'm going to be missing is the spacer or gasket that goes between the two when you put them together. Is it made of special material or could I make one out of something? What is it's purpose, to reduce vibration and noise. Any information you have on this would be helpful, thanks.

I've made them from milk jugs before and they seemed to work very well. I've also seen them made from cork gasket material.

Both good options .

So what did Hunter's Niche say about the spacer?

I didn't have the email for them. With my job it"s hard to call them during the day.. I wish they would have a email address on the web page. Thats why I was trying to get information on here.

They are made from a very thin black plastic material. I bet the plastic milk jug mentioned by wendigo would work just fine.

Rick, if that's the riser I sent you then I shot it a ton without those liners and never had a problem. I had one Predator with them and one without them and could never tell a difference.

"Deadringer" X 2 I've owened a few of them and never had the gaskets in them. If anything, put a little string wax between the pads and she'll be just fine.

Had several of them over the years, super shooting bows. Never used the spacers and never had a problem. Just put a little string wax on the riser where the limbs mount.

String wax is a good idea. Older Predators had a heavy material like card stock or something. Lee bows come with thin rubber that is pretty neat. Make some out of a bicycle inner tube or something. Have seen adhesive backed moleskin used. It is pretty thin, which is good. I don't know if there is a really good reason for the spacer between limb and riser, but most come with them, so I always use them.

I've used pieces of leather between mine, works great!

I have even used wal mart groc bags. Justa thin little something keeps it from popping when you draw the bow.

The milk jug is a good idea. I believe they are just there to keep from making popping noises when the bow is drawn. The pop is probably from finish rubbing together.
