The kid can shoot, we found a water hole the bears are coming to all the time.

This bear came to him at around 12 yards, he waited for him to take one more step and made a text book shot. The bear spun at the hit, making a loud growl and did not go 5 yards, was down in one second, right in front of him.

He could not believe it did not go anywhere, he could hear the blood spraying out the hole in his chest right in front of him :-\ as the bear slipped away.

By the time we all got to him it was dark thirty, and the work began, we had to bone it out on the spot and back pack it out.

The lethality of a sharp broadhead can not be underestimated, he used a 2 blade Tuffhead, the only shot that could of put it down faster would be a brain or spine shot.

I lit a cigar and sipped on the crown, as the boys started to do the work, half way through I had to help, it's to hard not to, but I try.

I carried the head and paws, they took the rest, how good is that.

L to R, Caleb, Mike and David, Caleb and Mike have known each other since one year old, there 27 now.

frikken awesome, 12 yards tho, holy chit, that's more like fight, not flight zone. Had to been some kind of heart pounder for the boy. I think my aorta would have exploded in that situation...

btw - we know he made a perfect shot shooting a sharp 2 blade head, but was he shooting a 40lb bow too? :)

I must have missed it, who shot the bear?

Congratulations on your harvest but......Use integrity in your photos.Clean up the blood and pose the game animal with some dignity.Blood spattered all over does much more harm than good for the hunting community in the eyes of social media.Pictures like this provide much ammunition and publicity for anti- hunters. The trophy deserves better !!

Great bear, great shot!!! Somebody call the wambulance... The fall off that high horse seems to have caused severe political correctness. When you shoot animals with arrows they bleed... Get over it!

Thanks a lot Guys, I'll try and give some answers to some of your questions.

First:

Desperado " Congratulations on your harvest but......Use integrity in your photos.Clean up the blood and pose the game animal with some dignity.Blood spattered all over does much more harm than good for the hunting community in the eyes of social media.Pictures like this provide much ammunition and publicity for anti- hunters. The trophy deserves better !!

What can I say except, NO!

My Son Caleb was the shooter, he was shooting Hoyt TX990 60lb limbs and a Tuffhead razor sharp. Bear was KILLED, not harvested, in the state of California, southern California to be exact.

This was his first buck this year, hit it in the pocket and it jumped and stood there,so he hit it again. As you can see, there was no need for a follow up shot, however, I always preach, if you can hit him again, do it, it's only an arrow.

PS, look away Kerry

I like to see what damage is done and not all clean up to make it look like it died of old age. I might clean it up for a picture but not before I get the real kill sight. They did good Kingbe.

Personally I don't care for the blood, but it is part of hunting. I can say this it would not get published in TBM nor would the mule with an arrow in it.

If you're going to address someone's objection "NO!" is not much of a point.

Through both lungs close to the heart is a great place to hit any animal

Congrats on a fine Bear and buck! I agree those pictures won't make TBM. I'm guessing you got really good blood trails on both animals. Isn't that what all bow hunter's want After a good hit? I can tell You guys really enjoy your hunting. That's what it's all about isn't it? Well done....

I just want to know, where can I get one of those (shower cap) looking camo hats? LOL King; You should know better than to show all that blood. LOL Keep it REAL, King , Keep It Real!

Bowmania, I had a long response to such dribble, however I stepped away from my computer and it was gone, so I just said NO, because this is such dribble.

However let me try and address it.

I KILL STUFF, and it's never pretty, I do not harvest, that is such BS, as far as fueling the antis they can go to HE!!, I will not bow to their crazy agenda. I am right, they are wrong, period.

MAN HAS BEEN KILLING from the beginning and I will not bow to some wacked out crazy BS.

As far as TBM they are trying to SELL Chit and make money, they can do whatever they want, it has no bearing on me and what I do.

I don't hunt for anyone but me...... I love the old time photos with an arrow in the animal before it became taboo... so I don't care who does not like it, I like it, and I'm the only one who matters. If I hunted for TBM or a bow manufacture of course I would do what they want me to do, or I would tell them NO, and walk away.

I don't hunt to show that I have a pair........ I don't hunt to show that I'm a real man...... some crazy loon came up with that BS.

I am man, so therefore, I hunt, that is and has been, what man has done from the beginning, I make no apologies for doing what GOD has designed me to do.

The men who felt weird about KILLING..... well, they started a garden.

Does the mountain lion apologies for ripping apart a fawn.... no. Yet some people want us to be a gentle hunter, be kind to your prey.... your out of your Fing mind, and I have learned not to argue with drunks and crazy people....

KILLING is not pretty....... lacerations BLEED and they BLEED a lot.......

PS, I send 8x10 glossy pic's of all my kills to PETA..... I just wish I could see their faces as they open the envelope thinking they got some more money..... what did Forest Gumps mama say "stupid is as stupid does"

Well...I agree with the "kill" over "harvest". I've voiced that stance here previously in assorted threads...we "harvest" corn, and kill when hunting. I've stated, again, in other threads that I'm tired of "us" apologizing for being hunters.

Interestingly, I've gotten torched here every time I've stated my position.

King...big congrats on your son's success. My son is 28, and I enjoy his victories waaaay over my own. Great job.
