Beautiful! I love forests like that.

That tarp is very interesting. Is it made for hunting or perhaps military issue?

From: George Tsoukalas

Very nice!

From: Alfie

Crossed arrows, it's a military tarp made for the norwegian army to start with that has eveloved into a bushcraft tarp. A bit pricey but well worth it.

A survivalblanket delux so to speak. It's called "Jerven fjellduken" and comes in many shapes, the one i use is called Hunter.

You have beautiful hunting ground, Alfie. Hope you find a moose. It's been a long month of work and chores here. These pictures are a real pick me up. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the pics Alfie.

If you take pictures with an iPhone, the phone has to be turned in a certain direction (horizontally I think) or they will post sideways on here.

Great post Alfie. That is beautiful country where you live, so different than here in North Carolina. Thanks for sharing with us. Also congrats on your moose! You have a cool looking dog to. What kind is he?

From: grizz
Date: 26-Sep-15

Fantastic. Great moose and a beautiful dog.

From: Alfie
Date: 26-Sep-15

Dont know what happend with the hat picture? I dont even have that pic in my phone!?

The dog is a husky type of breed, we use them to track moose and when they find the animal they start to bark, so the hunter can sneak in for a kill. A very old type of hunting.

This dog isnt my dog, belongs to the hunting teams dog handler. She's about 10 years old but still does a good job in the woods, using her experience to get the job done.

Would love to be able to hunt with bow and arrow instead of rifle, imagen to stalk up to a moose with the dog barking doing it's job, like when our ancesters did.

Love these shots, Alfie. Haven't seen the sun or been in the woods for days.

I have a shot of some shrooms spiraling up a stick if I can find it.

Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful country, great pics and nice moose. Here in Northern California we are still in serious drought, so we have lots of dust and yellowish looking trees, and plenty of ash from the forest fires. Plenty of bear, coyote and fox around our place looking for water and food.

Wonderful pictures! Many thanks for the hunt. Your woods are so much different from mine here in the Colorado Rockies.

The dog could be a Norwegian elkhound. They're often used for the biggest game, including bears.

From: Alfie
Date: 04-Oct-15

EJK, it's not a Norwegian elkhound, but close. Dont know what the breed is called in english, here it's called Jamthund, also very often used here for big game, moose, bears will boar....

Realised that i use alot of US made gear, hammock seat, Eberlestock, cold steel tomahawk, cold steel bushman knife, among some things. Complements my swedish made gear in a good way.
