My grandson is pulling 20 lbs and draws 16 inches. Any suggestions on a good arrow shaft for that will be appreciated.
He's been using my junk arrows and they don't work very good.

Get some cheap aluminum arrows from Lancaster Archery, as small as you can buy, and let them long. Likely some 14/64ths shafts will help him out until he grows a bit. The Jazz shafts are very affordable and go down to size 1214. Carbons...you would need around 1200 to 1300 spine.

If your into making arrows, 1/4" dowels from Lowe's work quite well. You can get them up to 48" long and get 3 from each, your cost complete will probably be under .50 cents each using scrap pieces of feather. Bob

I made a set of the Easton Jazz 1816 for my wife, they fly well. She shoots a 23# bow but gets less because of a shorter draw.

What Bob said. I've made dozens of 'em for my kids with those dowels.

My Grandson was just shooting cut down carbons I dug out of the garbage bin @ the local range. A good friend Kasper Bertsch bought the kid some of the Jazz 1214's and it changed his life. They weigh less than 200 grains and fly great. Now the 9 year old is pushing some of us old guys and beating some of us from time to time.

I make kids arrows, started making for my son and have made for others as well. I use 1/4" ramon wood from Kustom King 48" and target points , rated for bows up to 30# they say. If interested let me know. Here is a pic of some I made. They fly like darts!
