The Pa. Bowhunter's Festival will be held Sept. 18, 19 and 20, at the Forksville, Pa. fairgrounds. This is open to all archers, not just traditional, but is one of the best around. It has been going yearly since 1957..only missing 2011 due to flood.

It's in one of the most beautiful places on the planet...the Endless Mountain Region of Sullivan County. It's worth the trip just to take part in the Saturday chicken barbeque. 8^).

Forksville is located at the junction of Pa. Rt. 87 and 154, about 30 miles north of Montoursville.

We're staying at a cabin over at Ricketts Glenn State Park, our usual hangout area. I'm taking the fly rod along this year as well.

Haven't been there for years. Might try to do it this year.

It would be nice to see more traditional vendors there as well. Leon Stewart told me he got more orders there than at Denton Hill. Likely because he was the only traditional bowyer there. I didn't see him last year, but he was at Denton Hill this time. Jim Rebuck is always there so we do have some vendor representation.

Plenty of Maryland season Don, but I get it. When you retire you can come join us.

That sounds and looks like a super time. Might just give that some thought. Any vendors to mention? <')))><

Jim Rebuck will be there (J&M Archery) with his traditional stuff. The outside vendors change from time to time and there is always something to look at. Clothing, targets, longbows, even the ladies will find jewelry and other hand made things.

Is this a 3d shoot or what?

It's a fun-as-hell, 3D get together that's been going on since 1957. A 45'is yard running deer, other running/moving targets. Several stationary target ranges, and 3 ranges on the side of the mountain. And in Sullivan County, most everything is on the side of a mountain. ))

Looks like a nice cool fun place I wish I was there. Arvin

As I said, it is a mixed shoot, but in all the years I've been going I've never heard any disparaging remarks. Everyone is pretty cool with whatever you're shooting.
