Looks more like a Bear, doesn't it?

Even the tips and riser overlay look like a Kmag.

Ive got an " Ambusher" as well, 43@ 28. Neat little bows that give up nothing to the Bears at the time. They seem to be few and far between but they are great performers.

Pearson made a wagon load of bows, and many models in the same length. Indian Industries made a 48" bow, as did American Archery. Herter's made a 46" recurve. Almost every company made a 52" bow, and some several. Again, Pearson probably made three or four different 52" models. They turned out about 4000 bows a week at the Arkansas plant.

I think that you will really like that little bow. I have a 45# model and it spits 40-45 spine POC's like they were rockets! IMHO the Ambusher doesn't give any ground to the Super Mag or other short bows. Mine is so light in the hand I decided to weigh it and with the string and cat whiskers it is a whopping 1lb., 2 oz. Have fun shotting it. Lance.

Here's an ad for the 48" Indian Archer Stalker, and their target bow Cheyenne. From Archeryhistory.com/

Damon Howatt made the Nirk Rebel at 52 inches. For short bows you should look at Browning's 50 inch Cobra and Shakespear's 50 inch Cascade (I am still looking for the cascade). Wing has a couple of nice shorties too.

Interesting ad.

GDS, what's most interesting about the ad, the $90 part.

I had one of the Indian 48", I was 16 or 17 and my draw was already about 30". I could shoot it sitting on the ground without canting. I broke one in half at the top limb wedge (exploded at full draw) and they gave me another. They were a good looking bow but 60" but a bit too short for me. I kind of remember there being several 48" recurves out at that time.

holezone, at one time I collected everything I could afford to buy, as far as bows went. That was a time when they were cheap...due to the machine bows taking over literally everything. Over the years it didn't make sense to me to keep them all and not use them, so over time they all went. Not just one type, I loved all bows and learned as much as I could about them at the time.

I only know a lot of these bows because I wanted to know, and was lucky enough to grow up in a time of plenty, as far as manufactured bows go. I don't know how many I have owned over the the years, but it's been a bunch. Believe it or not I'm down to less than half a dozen bows. All of them vintage.
