Does anyone have any experience, opinions, recommendations regarding the SF Archery recurve target bows offered by Three Rivers? Who is "SF Archery"? Are these imports? Thank.

I do know that SF stands for Sebastian Flute...I have friends that have nothing but good to say about their limbs, even the inexpensive ones

C-
SF = Sebastien Flute Archery, an off-shoot of Win&Win Archery, initially catering the entry and intermediate level Olympic style shooters. They are made in China and typically provide more bang for the buck than most any other company out there.
Most if not all of my students start and stay with their stuff. It's that good.
The only time I would recommend WW over SF, is with advanced shooters, typically shooting above the 290 range indoors or over 1200 outdoors.
For trad, I usually suggest a Hoyt Excel riser and SF limbs. Not that the Hoyt is "better", just that is may be more generic and comes in a flat black option.

Well a lot of them look alike, not that there's anything wrong with that. 8^). I had a pair of SF limbs on a warfed riser and was quite please with them. They were terrific shooting limbs and I can't see a down side for most archers out there.

I gotta disagree about the SF risers vice Hoyt Excel. I have an Excel, and it's the rig for heavier use, now.
I bought an SF Axiom 23" riser, in silver, no less.
I love that thing. I find it's more stable in my hand, and matches closely with the 38# limbs I use almost all the time.
It's drawing around 42@30" for me. Smooth shooter.
Not to mention...it was half the price of an Excel.
SF...Love it.
DOn't get it twisted. The Excel is a GREAT riser.

I recently bought the 21" ILF Axiom riser. It's much nicer than I expected. I've shot with 50# limbs. Very forgiving and more stable than I thought it would be.

The reason for my inquiry, I'm looking for a metal riser target bow that I can set-up with target sight, stabilizer, cushion plunger as an alternative to drilling my wood bows. It's looking like the SF Axiom might be a nice option. So far, everybody likes them. 3 Rivers has them for $190. I just wasn't sure about the Chinese manufacture................

MYBO RIO SUPERCAST is another riser that can be had for less $200 made out of magnesium, they are light weight, available at LANCASTER ARCHERY.

Check out the prices at LAS also. They really specialize in those type bows and have great customer service.

Copper -
If you're looking for a target bow, spend the extra money on the SF Forged Plus in either 25" or 23" depending on your draw length. Ditto for getting the right sized limbs. (Think longer...)
The SF Forged comes with a very usable rest and plunger.
Match it up with appropriate length and weight limbs and a string and you're good to go.
It does have a target type grip, that might take a little getting used to, and you can't adjust the weight/tiller with the limbs strung (it will mare the limbs).
Other than that, it's the best deal out there.
You might also want to check out the Archery Talk FITA forum for more in depth discussions. (This one has been discussed at length - a few times).
Viper out.

I've help tune up a few Forged+ risers for a few club members, I've been very impressed with the finish quality and shot feel of these risers, probably one of the best value for money brands out there today.

I have the 25" riser with axiom limbs. This was my first bow and I really like it. Got it at LAS and it was really reasonable. Since then I picked up a Bear Montana and now have a bit of longbow obsession.
