Its a labor of love there. What color are you going to dye them?

I gotta get busy, Mulie season is right around the corner. Got a bunch of maple, beech, black walnut cut square on the table saw. Also a bucket full of full length Canada goose and Michigan turkey primaries. Great job on your end being prepared. Earlybird gets the worm. John

I did the same but back in April to 100 goose feathers! Finally fletching arrows in the mornin though. Haha got tons of turkey to do but it does take quite a bit of time.

Sweet! You build those from scratch?

Nothing better than natural Turkey fletch, IMHO.

Thanks all I just get left wings from people that use right wing. It does take a little time but well worth the effort for the end result

A little, looks like a lot of burnt feather smell going in there. Are going to dye any. JF

Those look great. Do you use the secondaries too, or just the primaries?

From: PaPa Doc
Date: 01-Aug-15

They were all chopped no burning smell and have not decided yet about dying some maybe yellow

New to site, how do you dye the wild turkey feathers?

From: bodymanbowyer
Date: 02-Aug-15

I know you chopped and grind but when you grind it still stinks, like something burning :) JF

Me too doc, well dying and chopping. Styks from the swap and trade split and ground these, back this winter. Fine job, couldn't be better. Doc you would love the colors too. JF

NICE! Just did a few turkey and goose last night myself. Playing with different shafts and tips.
